TONE CARDS

For our tone cards, we created similar ones to Sorority Row as that was one of the films we were inspired by when creating our trailer. We used a white font linking to theirs and they follow the codes and conventions by how our font fade out, jumping out at the audience creating tension.

EDITING

When we edited our trailer, we collected all the clips from each scene and then edited the scenes individually cutting down the time. Once we had done that we were able to put the

scenes together giving our product some structure.

When editing the beginning of the trailer we decided to add effects that would some how symbolise the equilibrium and the harmony of the opening scene.

As the disequilibrium starts, the effects and shots become much faster, to symbolise how the harmony is over and the fear has begun. The cross fades become much faster and flash

quicker on the screen, making the shots scarier and creates tension to the scene.

LIGHTING

When filming our trailer we wanted to use the conventions of lighting in horror films. So when the trailer first began and the equilibrium starts, the lighting is bright. However, when the moment of disequilibrium starts the lighting gets darker as horror film plays on fear and darkness. When the quick flashes of disequilibrium starts the lighting is even darker showing that it is night time and that is when its more frightening.
