WHAT HAVE I LEARNT SINCE DOING MY

PRELIMINARY TASK.

EDITING At first I found editing to be difficult as i did not know where things were however after getting used to Adobe premier I found it to be easier and therefore got the hang of cutting shot to make scenes match and adding transitions in between certain shots to make it less obvious of the cut between.

EXTRA FOOTAGE By shotting the same scene multiple times it has allowed me to select the most appropriate and nicest shot one. By shotting multiple times I had noticed each shot was different due to many aspects like lighting and the focus of the footage and if I had used a footage that had a different lighting from the previous one, I would've been making a grave error and not following the continuity editing rule

QUALITY

The quality of the footage is key as it has if such aspects such as the weather or the lighting situation can affect the film as it would not have continuity editing and each footage wouldn't look the same.

STORYBOARDS Although i had my story board with me and i used it as a guideline, certain scenes that I had added within my storyboard were not included in my actual film. Although the scenes were filmed I believed that they didn't quite go with the atmosphere that I aspired to present within my film as well as the fact that particular shots such as the graphic match i hoped to use didn't suit my opening scene well enough in my opinion.

CAMERA FUNCTIONS AND VARIETY OF SHOTS Before filming my film I made a shot list which can be viewed on my blog. I used a variety of shots including close ups, tracking shots and upwards pan. However I started my opening scene with a focus pulling shot of a street name. This is a huge improvement since I've done my preliminary task as I had use simple shots such as over the shoulder shot within it.
