EuroBrake was organised for the �rst time in 2012 and each year the number of exhibitors and attendees has grown signi�cantly. Almost 100 companies exhibited at EuroBrake 2016, representing the entire value chain from leading industry players to new entrants, including brake suppliers, component suppliers, material manufacturers and specialist engineering, testing, measurement and simulation providers.

The venue for EuroBrake 2017 is the International Congress Center Dresden (ICD), in Germany. New to 2017 we have extended the exhibition space, allowing more organisations the opportunity to attend than previous years. The ICD is a state-of-the-art conference centre located in the city’s old town on the bank of the River Elbe and has been host to three priorEuroBrake events.

Venue

EuroBrake 2017 will return to Germany at the International Congress Center Dresden (ICD).

The ICD is a state-of-the-art conference centre located in the city’s old town on the bank of the River Elbe and has been host to three prior EuroBrake events.

Dresden is home to many high-tech companies in sectors including semiconductors and aerospace and is one of Germany’s foremost research locations, with higher education institutions such as the University of Applied Sciences and the Dresden University of Technology, as well as the Fraunhofer, Leibniz and Max Planck Institutes.

Dubbed as the ‘Florence of the Elbe’, Dresden is famed for its striking architecture and beautiful scenery. With its excellent infrastructure and valuable industry links, Dresden is the ideal location for EuroBrake 2017.

EuroBrake 2016 had the second Student Innovation Competition kindly sponsored by Daimler. Applicants were asked to “consider the implications for vehicle braking systems with regards to autonomous driving” and fi nalists travelled from around the world to attend EuroBrake and present their work. This culminated in a number of original and thought-provoking concepts and prizes were awarded at the Gala Dinner to two outstanding students for their posters and oral presentations. All students were given the unique opportunity to take part in a Q&A panel session with experts from industry and academia including Daimler, Toyota, Bradford University, Leeds University and the FISITA CEO.

The Competition next year, kindly sponsored by Daimler, promises to be an exciting and challenging event with fi nalists winning a place to attend EuroBrake, present their work and much more.

Activities and events for all student delegates at EuroBrake 2017 will be developed to include: Unique student activities and events for talented young engineers to enter the industry
