Tjitte AlkemaSecretary General of HOSPEEM

Tjitte Alkema has been Secretary General of HOSPEEM, the European Hospital and Healthcare Employers’ Association, since 2013. He is mainly responsible for leading the negotiations in the framework of the European Sectorial Social Dialogue Committee for the Hospital Sector. Besides, he currently works at NVZ Dutch Association of Hospitals as manager of the Department of industrial relations and education.

He previously worked at the Erasmus University Rotterdam as Head of the Education Department of the Erasmus School of Economics.

Jonathan ChaloffComparative migration policy expert at OECD

Jonathan Chaloff is a comparative migration policy expert at the International Migration Division of the Directorate for Employment, Labor and Social Affairs at the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Among recent reports he co-authored are Recruiting Immigrant Workers: Sweden (2011), Germany (2013) and Norway (2014), the OECD Review of Labor Market and Social Policies: Israel (2010). He has also written OECD book chapters and working papers, including “Managing labor migration: Smart policies to support economic growth” (2014). He has

worked directly with a wide range of governments to provide policy evaluation, support and consulting for 20 years. Prior to coming to the OECD in 2007, he was the immigration specialist for the Italian foundation Censis (1997-2004). He was the correspondent for Italy to the OECD’s SOPEMI network from 1998 to 2006, and co-ordinated a government working group on implementation of the 1998 Italian framework immigration law (1998-2002). A graduate of the University of Chicago, he has also worked for international organizations on labor migration management issues in countries including Albania and Ukraine.

Maria Vincenza DesiderioPolicy Analyst at MPI Europe

Maria Vincenza Desiderio is a Policy Analyst at MPI Europe. Her work focuses on economic migration (for employment, entrepreneurship and investment), migrant integration, and the linkages between migration and development. Ms. Desiderio has carried out extensive research on migrant entrepreneurship trends and policies. Her recent publications on this topic include: Policies to Support Migrant Entrepreneurship (MPI, 2014); as well as Migrant Entrepreneurship in OECD Countries (OECD, IMO 2011, co-author); and Migration Policies in OECD Countries to Manage the Migration

of Foreign Entrepreneurs and Investors (OECD, Open for Business), that she wrote in her previous capacity as policy analyst in the International Migration Division of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

Listed by Forbes as one of the top 30 social entrepreneur under 30 years old in 2016, Josephine Goube currently heads Migreat’s communication, the fastest-growing global platform for migrants to get access to immigration information and visa support. She is the author of two reports on immigration & visa policies for entrepreneurs and writes on the concept of a European Startup Visas for Tech.eu. Outside of working hours, Josephine dedicates her time to Techfugees, a social enterprise connecting tech entrepreneurs and refugee organizations to create innovative products that addresses

the refugee crisis.

Björn GruberProject officer at the Department of Europe/Germany of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH

Björn Gruber is a project officer at the Department of Europe/Germany of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and responsible for the management and development of projects regarding labor migration since 2011. He developed and manages the Triple Win Project which was established in 2013 and focuses on cooperation between Germany and the partner countries Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Philippines in the care and nursing sector. Mr Gruber joined the GIZ in 2006 working for the GIZ owned Centre for International Migration and

Development (CIM). He is a graduate in International Migration and Intercultural Studies and holds a diploma in Regional Studies of Latin America.

Lenard KoschwitzDirector European Affairs, Allied for Startups

Lenard Koschwitz joined Allied for Startups in 2015. Previously he was the senior advisor to a Member of the European Parliament and Spokesperson for Justice and Home Affairs. During his time in Parliament he focused on the data protection reform, cyber security and the Common European Asylum System. Further he was involved in coordinating the legislative work of the Parliamentary Group and the position papers on these issues. Lenard is a passionate European, member of the European Federalists and the Europa Union. He studied political science, German literature and psychology

in Germany and European Studies in Brussels. Lenard speaks German, English, French and Italian. During high school he founded an online magazine and event agency for German rap music.

Adem KumcuPresident of UNITEE

President of UNITEE since 2011, Adem Kumcu is a founding member of the New European Business Confederation advocating the interests of entrepreneurs with a migrant background at European level.Dr. Kumcu has long combined his entrepreneurial experience with a career in academia. He studied Sociology to MA level at Utrecht University and obtained a PhD in this field from the University of Amsterdam in 2001.

Christiane KuptschSenior Specialist in Migration Policy at the International Labour Office in Geneva

Christiane Kuptsch works as Senior Specialist in Migration Policy at the International Labor Office in Geneva. Since 2008, she is with the ILO’s Labor Migration Branch, inter alia responsible for coordinating research activities. Before, she held the position of Senior Research Officer at the ILO’s International Institute for Labor Studies. She joined the ILO in 1992, in the then Migration and Population Branch and worked on social protection issues – with the ILO-linked International Social Security Association – from 1995 to 2001. She is a political scientist, specialized in International Relations

(Graduate Institute of International Studies, Geneva), with a background in law (University of Hamburg). Her publications examine issues such as temporary migration; the protection of migrant workers; student migration; labor migration policy against the backdrop of economic crisis; migrants’ labor market integration; labor migration governance; migrant recruitment agents; the competition for highly skilled workers; questions of migration and development; and the internationalization of labor markets.

Elena MarinovaPresident and a shareholder at Musala Soft JSC

Elena Marinova is a President and a shareholder at Musala Soft JSC. She is responsible for the company strategy, paying special attention to image, market positioning, company culture and team spirit. She is currently member of the boards of BAIT (the Bulgarian IT Association), AUBG (American University in Bulgaria), the Alumni Association of the Business Faculty of Sofia University and a distinguished Member of the European Parliament of Enterprises. In her public activities Elena Marinova is committed to the recognition of Bulgaria as an internationally recognized attractive IT

destination for both businesses and IT talents. She is actively engaged in activities dedicated to the promotion and development of the Bulgarian business climate and brand and to the increase of the quality and quantity of IT education.

Mathias MaucherPolicy Officer “Health and Social Policy”

Mathias Maucher, is a Policy Officer for “Health and Social Policy”, European Federation of Public Service Unions (EPSU), in Brussels since 2011.He works for the coordination of EPSU’s work with affiliates, mainly in the context of the Standing Committee “Health and Social Services” and the Working Group “Social Services” EPSU’s activities in the framework of the Sectorial Social Dialogue Committee for the Hospital Sector, the EPSU’s policy and lobbying work in the field of health and social services with European institutions (in particular with the European

Commission and the European Parliament), the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), Public Services International (PSI) and other EU-level or national partner organizations (trade unions, civil society organizations, employers’ organizations) and representation of EPSU at activities of affiliates.He also works on the EPSU’s project work in health and social services.

Geoff MeadeJournalist

Geoff Meade is a journalist with over 35 years’ experience of covering EU affairs, and an experienced speaker and moderator of conferences and seminars on EU issues. He is the former Europe Editor of the Press Association, the UK and Ireland’s national news agency, and still regularly broadcasts on radio and television.

Michael van der CammenHead of the Coordination Team for Migration German Federal Employment Agency (Bundesagentur für Arbeit)

Michael van der Cammen had worked in the Dutch education system and in logistics before he moved to Germany, where he started working for the Bundesagentur für Arbeit in 2003. There, he took part in a key reform project, centralizing public tenders in the field of active labor market policy measures from the local employment offices to the head office. Between 2005 and 2010, Mr. van der Cammen continued working for the Bundesagentur für Arbeit in the international relations department. He headed various technical assistance projects mainly focusing on PES in Balkan countries.

During this period, he represented the Bundesagentur für Arbeit in a government network, designing strategies in integrating migrants on the German labor market. From 2011 until 2013, Mr. van der Cammen headed the International Relations Team. Supporting the G-20 process, mutual learning and piloting circular migration are part of his key activities. Since 2014 Mr van der Cammen is Head of the Coordination Team for Migration.

Hendrik VoßGraduate Economist

Mr Voß is born on January 11th 1975 in Osnabrueck. He finished his academic studies in business and macroeconomics at the universities of Bonn, Bayreuth and Cologne. From 2004 to 2008 was the Head of Division in the Department of Educational and Labor Market Politics of the “Cologne Institute for Economy Research (IW Koeln)”. Since 2008 is Head of Unit in the Department of Vocational Education and Training in the “German Confederation of Skilled Crafts and Small Businesses (ZDH)”, focusing on international co-operation in VET, development of training regulations, skills competitions. Since

2009 is additionally Managing Director of the skilled crafts sector talent’s support association.

Peter WebingerDeputy Director-General for Legal Affairs and head of the Directorate for Migration, Citizenship Affairs, Asylum and Human Rights in the Austrian Ministry of the Interior

Mr Webinger did finished law studies in Salzburg, Vienna and Uppsala (Sweden).He is Deputy Director-General for Legal Affairs and head of the Directorate for Migration, Citizenship Affairs, Asylum and Human Rights in the Austrian Ministry of the Interior since 2009.He is also a Member of SCIFA (Strategic Committee on Immigration, Frontiers and Asylum) and the Austrian Migration Council and Editor of “STABLE STATES – rethinking

social cohesion and good governance” and the scientific series “regiones et res publicae”.Mr Webinger gives lectures on migration & asylum i.a. at the Strategic Leadership Course of the Austrian government.
