29 August to 12 September

Day 1 Berlin Arrive Berlin airport, meet your guide and be transferred by coach to your 4-star hotel.

Overnight Berlin. Day 2 Berlin After breakfast meet your guide and enjoy a city tour by coach. You’ll see Berlin’s most famous landmarks and attractions including the Memorial Church, Victory Column, the Berlin Wall, Checkpoint Charlie, the Brandenburg Gate, Jewish Synagogue and the Reichstag. Afternoon and evening free.

Overnight Berlin. B Day 3 Berlin After breakfast you have a free day to explore and enjoy Berlin at your leisure.

Overnight Berlin. B Day 4 Dresden & Prague After breakfast meet your tour manager and depart Berlin by deluxe touring coach. You’ll stop at Dresden for a guided city tour and time for lunch(not included). Arrive late afternoon at your 4-star hotel in Prague.

Overnight Prague. B Day 5 Prague After breakfast enjoy a city tour of the most popular city in Eastern Europe. You’ll see Prague Castle and Cathedral, Charles Bridge, the Old Town, Jewish Quarter and Wenceslas Square, Afternoon and evening are free for you to make the most of this captivating ancient city. Dine at one of its many excellent and inexpensive local restaurants (not included).

Day 6 Cesky Krumlov After breakfast depart Prague with your tour manager and deluxe coach and travel to UNESCO listed Cesky Krumlov for a visit to one of Europe’s most historic and captivating provincial towns. Your walking tour will include the Old Town Square and a visit to the castle perched high above the river. After checking into your 4-star hotel there is free time this evening to dine (not included) and explore this true Czech gem.

Overnight Cesky Krumlov. B Day 7 Salzburg After breakfast depart Cesky Krumlov and travel south with your tour manager and coach into Austria and arrive at the city of Sound of Music – Salzburg. Time for lunch (not included) and a city tour where you’ll see a number of places featured in the film as well as Mirabell Gardens, the Old Town and Mozart’s house. Check into your 4-star hotel then free time to enjoy this city of music.

Overnight Salzburg. B Day 8 Passau After a leisurely breakfast depart Salzburg and travel by coach to Passau on the Danube where you will board your elegant 4-star river cruise ship the MS Select Explorer mid afternoon and settle into your new home for the next 7 days. Tonight meet your fellow travellers on board at a welcome cocktail reception and dinner. Later this evening your ship departs Passau and you head down the Danube.

Overnight cruising. B D Day 9 Melk Abbey & Vienna You’ll awake to unforgettable views of the Danube and after breakfast and docking at Melk you’ll leave the ship to tour the world famous historic abbey in its magnificent setting overlooking the Danube. You return to the ship for lunch and an afternoon cruise through the Wachau Valley, acknowledged by all as being the most scenic part of the whole Danube experience. Enjoy dinner aboard and arrive at Vienna early evening in time for an optional Classical Concert at The Kursalon Place.

Overnight Vienna on board. B L D Day 10 Vienna After breakfast your local guide will take you on a coach and walking tour to see all that this stunning city has to offer including the Viennese Ring, Belvedere Palace, State Opera House, Parliament, City Hall, Burg Theatre, Vienna University, St Stephen’s Cathedral and Schonbrunn Palace. This afternoon is free time in Vienna. Early evening your ship departs Vienna and continues down the Danube as you enjoy dinner.

Overnight cruising. B L D Day 11 Budapest You’ll awaken to more wonderful views and after breakfast you approach and finally arrive at Budapest. The view of the dramatic Hungarian Parliament with the Chain Bridge in the background and Buda Castle on the hill is one you will never forget! After lunch on board, your local guide will take you on a coach and walking tour when you’ll see both Buda and Pest. Highlights include the Royal Castle, Matthias Church, Fishermen’s Bastion, the Parliament and Heroes’ Square. This evening is free to enjoy Budapest or take an optional Budapest by Night tour which also includes dinner and a folklore show at a typical Hungarian restaurant.

Overnight Budapest on board. B L D Day 12 Budapest & Esztergom After breakfast the morning is free time in Budapest before the ship turns around to cruise back upstream. Enjoy lunch on board and relax and take in the views as you see the river from another angle. Late afternoon arrive at historic Esztergom where you can stretch your legs and explore before the ship departs as you enjoy dinner aboard.

Day 13 Bratislava You arrive in Bratislava the pretty capital of Slovakia at around 0630 and after breakfast the morning is free time to explore the nearby historic city at your leisure or take an optional mini train and walking tour. And don’t forget to try the famous local chocolate! Mid afternoon your ship departs and continues its cruise up the beautiful Danube.

Overnight cruising. B L D Day 14 Durnstein You arrive at Durnstein very early and after breakfast go ashore to wander around this fascinating medieval castle town in the heart of the Wachau Valley. An optional tour will take you on a guided walk through the town and to a tasting of the quality wines of the Wachau region. The ship departs as you are having lunch and you continue cruising. Tonight is your last night on board so you will enjoy the Captain’s Farewell Dinner complete with music and entertainment.

Overnight cruising. B L D Day 15 Passau & Munich You arrive at Passau at around 0800 and after breakfast disembark the ship. Your guide and coach are waiting to transfer you to Munich Airport for your flight back to Australia. B Inclusions Coach Tour
