NEW PROJECTS5

We are developing innovative and hands-on projects in line to our priorities and in response to the challenges facing European higher education. Our approach is multi-disciplinary, politically independent and combines (applied) research and policy development with concrete initiatives. EURASHE also contributes to projects through consultative, advisory and stakeholder boards.

APPRENTICESHIPQ EURASHE is a partner in the APPRENTICESHIPQ. The project’s goal is to develop management tools that support Higher Education institutions and employers to offer and direct high-quality apprenticeships. The project aims to help identify different types of apprenticeships in Europe as well as the basic needs and expectations both by higher education institutions and by companies and to create a management toolkit with documents such as manuals, procedures, checklists and other forms to support the implementation of an “apprenticeships quality management system”. DEQAR

EURASHE is a partner in the DEQAR. The project seeks to develop a database that would provide reliable information on higher education institutions/programmes externally reviewed against the ESG, to be used by a broad range of users and recognition officers, representatives of higher education institutions in general, students, quality assurance agencies, ministry representatives and other national authorities to satisfy their information needs and support different types of decisions e.g. recognition of degrees, mobility of students, portability of grants/loans.

IMPACCT

EURASHE is a partner in the IMPACCT. In the EU the ageing population has a fundamental effect on the sustainability of society. Older adults with low health literacy are less able to understand health information, navigate services, make more errors with medication and are less able to self manage their condition. IMPACCT will speed up the quality improvement of medical and nursing education in Europe to deal with low health literacy and as such will have positive impact on patient safety, quality and sustainability of health care.

SAT

EURASHE is a partner in the SAT. The high-quality apprenticeships are essential for Professional Higher Education which are defined as a distinct form of Higher Education that offers a particularly intense integration with the world of work in all its aspects.

The project SAT – SmartApprenticeTrack system - is addressing the Improvement of The Work Based Learning Quality. Its function is to diversify learning opportunities, enhance employability, offer qualifications and stimulate innovation, for the benefit of learners and society.

SPRINT

EURASHE is a partner in the SPRINT. The project aims to create a standard and a self-assessment tool defining quality internship and the learning outcomes it brings to young people, undergraduate and graduate. The project will make this standard valid for the whole Europe taking into consideration the national practices and therefore contributing to the harmonization of a European area of skills and qualifications.

EURASHE organized a round table on teaching & learning in Brussels (Belgium) on 12 October 2017. In order to adequately address the issue of modernization and innovation in teaching and learning, first there is a need to understand how we integrate learning in the classroom with work based learning. Among questions to be discussed, we wish to know what is the future of education; will theory learning be moved from classrooms to online courses, while education institutions focus on skills development, balancing the role of teachers between passing on the knowledge and skills development? And what are the challenges in learning for different target groups coming to PHE? EURASHE’s roundtable on Teaching and Learning discussed the above issues and analyzed what are the strengths and weaknesses of PHE in the area of teaching and learning, and what are the next steps we will be doing to ensure institutional adaptability to the trends of societal development and timely response.
