The AES-92 plant design has been developed as a Standard Design in the Russian Federation context. Even so, the compliance assessment performed and reported in the EUR Volume 3 AES-92 Subset shows a good level of compliance of the AES-92 plant design with the EUR policies, objectives and requirements.

Compliance with objectives (CWO):the design is supposed to achieve the objective of the requirement; either a different approach from the EUR one is used to achieve the same objectives, or the approach is not yet defined

Compliance with the EUR objectives:PSA targets: the AES 92 results are quite low for the internal events, thus the EUR objectives are reachable, but impact of certain hazards and initiating events has not been assessed yetSafety classification: the Russian Standard OPB88/97 based on different principles than EUR. The safety classified part may bea bit larger than allowed in EUR.Primary and Secondary Containment performance: balanced design achievable because of big reserve for optimisation

Several Non-Compliances have been identifiedOverall construction time: 60 months from first concrete to commercial operation, no reduction foreseen for AES 92Digital I&C and computerised Man-machine interface

for AES 92 partially computerised control room normal operation handled via fully computerized MMI safety systems dealt through conventional controlswith duplication of information on displays of computerized MMI

Refuelling & regular maintenance outage duration: 28 days for AES 92 (20 days requested in EUR)Spent fuel storage capacity: 642 cells for AES 92 (instead of 738 cells according to EUR, mainly for MOX spent fuel)
