A year on into the new legislation. 2B) Venue documentation. What would venues like as documentation, can we standardise it. 2C) AV Technology. Video Mapping, Remote participation. Session Three 2.45pm – 3.45pm 3A) H&S - Unsafe Venues. As an industry, how do we deal with the situation of working in a venue that has obvious safety matter / issues. 3B) Schedules and Scheduling. What needs to be in them? What tools are available? 3C) Networking. (Entry level) Explanation of different networks, demonstrations of setting up a network and rdm locations. Session Four 4.00pm – 5.00pm 4A) H&S - Its just a ladder. What could possibly go wrong? A practical session leading you through a risk assessment process. 4B) Insurance. Types of insurance and what you should hold. 4C) Networking. (Advanced) Wireless networking, hacking networks, impact of audience cellphones on networks and managed networks.

Demystifying JSA / SWMS and other acronyms. Asking questions, sharing experiences. 6B) Venues practical tips. Manual handling equipment, sound shells, stage paint, fire retarding, Pat testing. How this fits with H&S law & responsibilities, assessing needs and monitoring use 7B) Opening new venues. What worked, what hasn’t in a selection of venues opened in the last couple of years 7C) Knot tying – Practical session. How to tie them and when to use them. Session Eight 3.30pm – 4.15pm 8A) H&S – Working with others. How do we work with other PCBUs. Overlaps in inductions, paperwork, and training.

SITE VISITS Thunderbirds are Go: Miniatures Stage Tour 8.45am – 10.15am Wednesday at Weta Workshop Visit the authentic Thunderbirds Are Go shooting stage and discover the genuine Weta Workshop props, models and miniatures behind the popular TV series on a tour guided by the experienced crew. The cost is $35.00 per person and includes transport to the workshop. Numbers are strictly limited. Additional site and venue visits are being arranged. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS The following Professional Development sessions are being offered around the conference. If you are interested in attending any of these, we require you to register either on the conference registration form or by emailing [email protected] an Expression of Interest by the 31st March 17. Once we ascertain that there is sufficient interest in these courses, details and costs will be sent out in April and bookings / payments will need to be in by the 1st July 17. 1. Neo Console Training Thursday 6th July. 9.00am – 4.00pm A masterclass in the Neo console, so attendees must have operator knowledge of either the NEO or Light Factory or another lighting console. Conducted by Martin Searnancke and Phil Sargent. Cost $25.00 for ETNZ members. 2. Vertical lift and Scissor lift EWP training Monday 3rd or Thursday 6th July Run by Mac Access, the course covers theoretical knowledge and practical skills in H&S Legislative requirements, EWP compliance requirements, Hazard Id, Risk assessments and controls, safe operation of EWP, emergency procedures and rescue plans. Achieving unit standards 23960, 23066, 23964. Cost approx. $160.00 depending on numbers 3. Fire Extinguisher Training Monday 3rd July. 8.30am – 12.30pm

Run by Safety n Action. During these practical fire extinguisher courses, you will learn to evaluate fire scenarios and take the correct action, including alarm activation, identifying and selecting the correct extinguisher and using the fire extinguisher on real fires. Cost indication $160.00 depending on numbers

4. Fire & Emergency Warden Course Monday 3rd July. 1.00pm – 5.00pm

Run by Safety n Action. During this course you will gain an understanding of the legal requirements for having an effective evacuation plan; for having trained evacuation wardens; and for having regular drills or rehearsals. You will learn how to perform your role as an emergency warden and how to react in a cool, calm and decisive manner if you are ever confronted by a real workplace emergency.

Cost indication $160.00 depending on numbers 5. Rope Rescue – 2 days Run by Adventure Southland / NZ Height Solutions 6. Use of Theatrical Counterweight Flying systems – Thursday 6th July

Run by Rob Peters this course is aimed at people with previous experience in the operation of counterweight flying systems who are looking to step up to a head flyman role. We will encourage that all participants bring any venue/show specific flying requirements for open discussion during the day. The flying of performers will NOT be part of this course. Cost indication $150.00

7. Risk management – The “Leatherman” of your H&S toolbox – Monday 3rd July. 9.30am – 12.30pm

Cathy Knowsley will run practical workshop looking at the “whys” and “hows” of health and safety risk management. Learn how to complete a risk assessment on your own favourite hazards, the steps necessary to develop effective risk controls, and the practical application of these for your own event, show, company or venue.
