Conclusions

Very few ‘observed’ data are available at the level of O/D relations (demand, supply) => requirement to model data

The use of manifold different road network models for

different purposes, such as

Network model A, used for modelling within TRANS-TOOLS;

Network model B, used for collecting infrastructure-related data for TEN-Tec;

Network model C, used for collecting traffic count data by UN/ ECE,

Network model D, used for collecting traffic count data in country D,

imposes relevant efficiency restrictions for transport modellers

Conclusions [continued]

Several of the data gaps within TRANS-TOOLS will be bridged by

ETISplus

ETISplus will clearly enhance the technical capabilities of TRANS-

TOOLS, e.g. in terms of

Extension of the geographical scope of data availability

Enhanced status of quality of network model (topology, attributes, link

alignment)

Inclusion of freight terminals

Enhanced status of level-of-service and demand data for long-distance

coach transport

Refinement of traffic count data
