1.1 Creating Transparent Transmission Services Over Ethernet
Purpose The transparent transmission of Ethernet services enables each set-up route to have a fixed bandwidth and performance. When one more service is created, connections must be created between the nodes on the trail. So it is applicable to simple networks. The network performance can be improved through reasonable settings and the use of static route. Moreover, bandwidth can be reserved for important services. The networking of transparent transmission of Ethernet services is point-to-point.

2. Installing an Ethernet Interface Board on the T2000 (optional)
� Note: The Ethernet interface unit of some equipment such as the OptiX 155/622H (Metro 1000) integrates the Ethernet board and interface board on itself. So, no independent Ethernet interface board configuration is needed, and this step can be. For other equipment such as the OptiX 2500+ (Metro 3000) and OptiX Metro 3100, their Ethernet boards and interface boards are separated; the configuration of Ethernet interface board is needed. Then, this step is mandatory.

Follow the steps below to configure port attributes and binding paths of an Ethernet board.

4. Creating Cross-Connection Between the Ethernet and the Line Boards
Follow the steps below to create cross-connection between the Ethernet and the line boards.

1 In the NE Explorer, click the NE and select [Configuration/SDH Service Configuration] from the Function Tree.
2 Click <Create>, the “Create SDH Service” dialog box is displayed.

3 Create the cross-connection between the Ethernet board and line board.
� Note: You can create the corresponding VC12 cross-connection.
4 Click <Apply> or <OK>.
5. Configuring the Static Ethernet Route
Follow the steps below to configure the static Ethernet route.
Step Action
1 In the NE Explorer, click the NE and select [Configuration/Ethernet Static Route] from the Function Tree.
2 Query the static route information of the selected Ethernet board from the NE side. Click <Query> to display it.
3 Click <Create>, or right-click in the “Static Route” and select [Create]. The “Create Route” is displayed.
4 Set the parameters of static route. Set the “Index” and select the “Type”, “Direction”, “Source Port Type”, “Source Port”, “Source VLAN”, “Sink Port Type”, “Sink Port” and “Sink VLAN”.
� Note: The value of "Type" is "Port Route".

5 Click <Apply> or <OK>. The "Operation Result" dialog box is displayed and indicates that the operation
succeeded.

1.2 Creating Convergent Transmission Services Over Ethernet
Purpose
The convergent transmission service over Ethernet can be performed by identifying VLAN ID. It can save the port source through several services sharing a MAC port, or save the bandwidth through sharing a VCTRUNK port. The networking includes point-to-point and point-to-multipoint.

� Note: The following equipment have the Ethernet boards that need SDH NNI configuration: OptiX Metro 3100, OptiX 2500+ (Metro 3000), and OptiX 155/622H (Metro 1000).
2. Installing an Ethernet Interface Board on the T2000 (optional)
� Note: The Ethernet interface unit of some equipment such as the OptiX 155/622H (Metro 1000) integrates the Ethernet board and interface board on itself. 3 Create the cross-connection between the Ethernet board and line board.
� Note: You can create the corresponding VC12 cross-connection.
4 Click <Apply> or <OK>.
5. Configuring the Static Ethernet Route
Follow the steps below to configure the static Ethernet route.
Step Action
1 In the NE Explorer, click the NE and select [Configuration/Ethernet Static Route] from the Function Tree.
2 Query the static route information of the selected Ethernet board from the NE side. Click <Query> to display it.
3 Click <Create>, or right-click in the "Static Route" and select [Create]. The "Create Route" is displayed.
4 Set the parameters of static route. Set the "Index" and select the "Type", "Direction", "Source Port Type", "Source Port", "Sink Port Type", "Sink Port" , "Source VLAN" and "Sink VLAN".

� Note: The value of "Type" is "VLAN Route".
5 Click <Apply> or <OK>. The "Operation Result" dialog box is displayed and indicates that the operation succeeded.
6 Repeat this procedure to create as many static routes as necessary.

1.3 Creating EPL Services
Purpose
Ethernet Private Line (EPL) includes two types:
� Port � Port+VLAN
For port, it can perform transparent transmission Ethernet service.

Follow the steps below to configure port attributes and binding paths of an Ethernet board.

� Note: The value of “Port Type” must be “PE”.
2 Configure external port attributes.
� Note: The value of “Port Type” must be “PE”.
3 Configure binding path.

� Note: You can create the corresponding VC12, VC3 or VC4 cross-connection according to situation.
4 Click <Apply> or <OK>.
5 Repeat this procedure to create as many cross-connections as necessary.
3. Creating EPL Services
Follow the steps below to create EPL services.
Step Action
1 In the NE Explorer, click the NE and select [Configuration/ Ethernet Service/ Ethernet Leased Line Service] from the Function Tree.
2 Click <New>. The "Create Ethernet Leased Line Service" dialog box is displayed.

3 Enter the information of the EPL service. Select "Service Direction", "Source Port", "Source Port VLAN
ID", "Sink Port", "Sink Port VLAN ID".
� Note: The value of "Enable Port" in the "Port Attribute" can be modified. However, if the port attribute has been configured, keep the default values. If there are no appropriate binding paths in the "Binding Path", Click <Configure Binding Path…> to bind new path. Configure the same VLAN ID for the source port and the sink port.
4 Click <OK> or <Apply>. The "Operation Result" dialog box is displayed and indicates that the operation succeeded.

1.4 Creating EVPL Services Purpose Ethernet Virtual Private Line (EVPL) can converge Ethernet service through identifying MPLS label. Therefore, it can share the bandwidth when VLAN IDs are same.

4. Creating EVPL Services

2 Select “Display Shared Service”.
3 Click <New>. The “Create Ethernet Leased Line Service” dialog box is displayed.
4 Enter the information of the EVPL service. Select “Service Direction”, “Source Port”, “Source Port VLAN ID”, “Sink Port”, “Sink Port VLAN ID”.
� Note: The value of "Enable Port" in the "Port Attribute" can be modified. However, if the port attribute has been configured, keep the default values. If there are no appropriate binding paths in the "Binding Path", Click <Configure Binding Path…> to bind new path.
5 Click <OK> or <Apply>. The "Operation Result" dialog box is displayed and indicates that the operation succeeded.

1.5 Creating EPLn Services Purpose
Ethernet Private LAN (EPLn) can realize Ethernet service dynamically shared among multiple pointes, conforming to dynamic features of data service and saving bandwidth resources.

To avoid broadcast storm, Ethernet EPLn service cannot be set as a ring. If so, the spanning tree RSTP protocol must be started in the network. Use this procedure to configure the EPLn service at a node.

3. Creating EPLn Services
Follow the steps below to create EPLn services.
Step Action
1 In the NE Explorer, click the NE and select [Configuration/ Ethernet Service/ Ethernet VLAN Service] from the Function Tree.
2 Click <New>. The "Create Ethernet LAN Service" dialog box is displayed.
3 Set the information of the EPLn service. Enter "VB Name".
4 Click <Configure Mount Port>. The "VB Mount Port Configuration" dialog box is displayed. Select appropriate port in the "Available Mounted Ports" and click .

5 Click <OK>.
6 If there are no appropriate binding paths in the "Binding Path", Click <Configure Binding Path…> to bind path.
4. Creating the VLAN Filtering Table
Follow the steps below to create the VLAN filtering table.
Step Action
1 In the NE Explorer, click the NE and select an appropriate board. Select [Configuration/Layer-2 Switching Management/Forwarding Filter Table] from the Function Tree.
2 Click <New>. The "Create VLAN" dialog box is displayed.
3 Enter the information of this VLAN. Select the "VB", specify the "VLAN ID", and select the appropriate ports as forwarding ports.
4 Click <OK> or <Apply>. The "Operation Result" dialog box is displayed and indicates that the operation succeeded.
