Italy PilgrimageDay 1 - June 8, 2015 – Depart El Paso Depart El Paso by flight. Dinner will be served on board.

Day 2 - June 9, 2015 – Arrive in Rome You will be met at the airport in Rome by ourrepresentatives.(D)

Day 3 - June 10, 2015 – Rome Papal Visit & Rome TouringFollowing breakfast, we will make our way to St. Peter’s Squareto attend the Papal Audience led by His Holiness, Pope Francis(A Papal Audience is scheduled to take place every Wednesday,pending the schedule of Pope Francis). Following the audience,visit the Basilica of St. John the Lateran, the Pope's cathedralchurch where relics of both Peter and Paul remain under themain altar. It was here that Pope Francis was formally installedone year ago as Bishop of Rome. Continue to the Basilica ofSt. Mary Major, the oldest and most important church dedicatedto Our Lady. St. Mary Major contains a relic from the manger ofthe infant Jesus. Continue on to visit St. Paul Outside the Walls.Dinner and overnight are in Rome.

Day 4 - June 11, 2015 – Rome – Greccio - AssisiAfter breakfast, have a morning at leisure to explore Rome onyour own. In the early afternoon, depart for Assisi, stopping enroute at Greccio to visit the Sanctuary. Continue to Assisi fordinner and overnight. (B,D)

Day 5 - June 12, 2015 – AssisiToday is a very special day as we will spend the day touring thehome of the Saint that inspired our Holy Father. Pope Francischose his name in admiration of the Saint of Nature and Servantto the Poor. Visit the tomb of St. Francis and explore the quainthilltop birthplace of St. Francis that still retains something of theatmosphere of the early 1200s when he began his ministry. Thehuge 13th-century Basilica contains many of the saint'spossessions and a series of frescoes depicting his life. You maykneel before the crucifix from which Jesus spoke to St. Francis,asking him to rebuild His church. Continue on to the Church ofSt. Clare to view the relics of St. Clare. The foundress of theOrder of Poor Clares followed the teachings of St. Francis byliving a life of poverty and humility. Continue to La Verna andhave some time for private devotion. Visit the Gubbio Sanctuary,where tradition says St. Francis talked to a wild wolf. Return toAssisi for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 - June 13, 2015 – SiennaAfter breakfast, transfer to Sienna, one of Italy's loveliestmedieval cities. It is also the birthplace of Saints Catherine(Doctor of the Church and a patron saint of Italy along with St.Francis of Assisi) and Bernardine (known as the “Apostle ofItaly” for his efforts to revive the Catholic faith in the 15thcentury). Stroll the Piazza Del Campo, one of Italy’s finestsquares, and visit the Cathedral and the Basilica of St. Francis,containing the miraculous consecrated hosts that haveremained intact since 1730. Continue on to view the incorrupthead of St. Catherine at the Basilica of St. Dominic (her bodyis preserved in Rome in the Basilica St. Maria sopra Minerva).Spend the night in Sienna.

Day 7 - June 14, 2015 – San GimignanoAfter breakfast, depart for San Gimignano. Enjoy a full day onyour own to discover this beautiful city that served as animportant relay point for pilgrims traveling to and from Romeon the Via Francigena. The patrician families who controlledthe town built approximately 72 tower houses (some over 160feet tall) as symbols of their wealth and power. Although onlyfourteen towers have survived, San Gimignano retains itsfeudal atmosphere and appearance. The town also hasseveral masterpieces of 14th- and 15th-century Italian art.Head to Bologna for dinner and overnight. (B,D)

Day 8 - June 15, 2015 – BolognaIn Bologna, visit the Shrine of St.Catherine and the Basilica ofSt. Dominic. In the afternoon, head to Milan/Assago for dinnerand overnight. (B,D)

Day 9 - June 16, 2015 – Assago - MilanAfter breakfast, begin the city tour of Milan, the Italian fashioncapital, and visit the Cathedral of Milan (Duomo) to celebratemass. Walk through the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele to view LaScala, Milan's world-famous opera house. The opera houseowes its name to the fact that it stands on the site of the ChurchSanta Maria della Scala. Visit the convent of the Santa MariaDelle Grazie that contains Leonardo da Vinci’s world famousfresco The Last Supper (if tickets are available). Transfer to thehotel for dinner and overnight. (Optional Opera performance atLa Scala - additional cost). (B,D)

Day 10 - June 17, 2015 – Milan - TurinAfter an early departure, arrive in Turin to visit the Shroud ofTurin, one of the world’s most famous relics. The Shroud, apiece of herringbone twilled linen cloth measuring 14.5 feet by3.9 feet, is believed by many Roman Catholics to be the clothin which Christ’s body was wrapped after his crucifixion. It bearsthe faint imprint of a man and the apparent signs of woundmarks that correspond to those Christ sustained during hiscrucifixion. Dinner and overnight.

Day 11 - June 18, 2015 – Return to El PasoReturn to El Paso, forever changed by this pilgrimage of faith.
