• Algorithms to assimilate UTLS datasets into troposphere/stratosphere GCMs & CTMs Build on theory Retrieval/forward model algorithms -> radiance assimilation Synergy (limb/nadir, different tools, chemistry/dynamics,…) Apply to NWP, chemical forecasting systems

• QC-datasets of UTLS O3 & H2O for use by scientific community cal-val (e.g. Envisat,…)

Use algorithms & QC-datasets -> (co-operation) ->• Assess state of UTLS & “understand” processes, using data

(analyses, …)• Information -> comprehensive analysis of anthropogenic impact

on UTLS region

•Ozone analyses using both geometries are objectively “better” (more consistent with a BLUE) than those using just one or other of the geometries
