The MODS was selected as the pre-ferred oxygen equipment used in deployment. Thank you so much for your generous donations to the Kelly A. Nelson 5K Walk/Run Annual Event. Even the damp, cool conditions did not inhibit the 189 walkers/runners that participated in this year’s event on November 5th. The employees of Essex have made a difference in the fight to find a cure for Leukemia & Lymphoma. In total, the 5K donated over $5,700.00, of which $1,700.00 was due to the Essex Spirit Week. Your Spirit touched our hearts and renewed the energy to continue our fight to make a difference! We have witnessed the results of re-search and watched the changes in medications and proce-dures. Bone marrow/stem cell transplants, new drugs and changes in protocols are all due to research. Research that enabled Kelly additional years that would not have been possible. We look forward to celebrating a cure for blood cancers, one step at a time.

Thank for your support—

TRG in Vegas TRG has recently returned from the 56th Annual American Association for Respiratory Care Conference (AARC) in Las Vegas, where we seemed to have hit the jackpot with the new O2 Alert system. With the O2 Alert, oxygen pa-tients, caretakers and institutions are always aware of low pressure in their medical cylinders. The product is devel-oping into a dynamic, multi-functional device with seem-ingly endless capabilities including an audio/visual alert, programmable voice-chip, and even a wireless transmitter. Using its wireless capabilities, the alert system is able to broadcast the low-pressure signal through e-mail, Face-book, Twitter or even your cell phone. Through a wide range of functions, we have found multiple applications for the O2 Alert, both within the home and institutional healthcare fields. The overall response from conference attendees was excitement and enthusiasm.

Currently, our gauge manufacturer, MIJA is working on integrating the battery pack and wireless transmitter into the actual gauge. While there is still some work to be done, we are aiming at launching the product with full ca-pabilities some time in the first quarter of 2011.

Thanks for ATFLIR

This holiday photo is full of cheer due to the delivery of the Advance Targeting Forward Looking Infra-Red [ATFLIR] panels to the crew on board the U.S.S. Lincoln. These are just a few of the men and women using our products to keep the world safe. Please remember them in your thoughts and prayers, as they are separated from their families during this holiday season, so we can be with ours. The ATFLIR panels are assembled at Essex Manufactur-ing Division in the Mechanical Assembly department.
