Applying for NBRC Examinations Once the admission require- ments are met, there are two ways to apply for an examina- tion: Online at nbrc.org OR Download and print the application form at nbrc.org Once an application is ap- proved, scheduling an exam- ination is easy through our testing agency, PSI. You may schedule online at goAMP. com or call 888.519.9901. Eligibility Three- Year Time Limit Graduates of accredited ad- vanced-level education pro- grams have three years after graduation to earn the RRT credential. Individuals who don’t earn the RRT credential within this time limit will be required to retake and pass the Therapist Multi- ple-Choice Examination at the high cut score to regain eligi- bility for the Clinical Simulation Examination. Difference Between NBRC & State Licensure Agencies NBRC awards credentials based on test performance that all 49 states recognize as standards for state licensure. State licensure agencies grant a license to practice in the state. Continuing Education infor- mation submitted to NBRC is not shared with state licensing agencies and vice versa. Credential Verification A credential verification let- ter confirms information on currently held credentials and is accepted by most state licensure agencies as official verification of credentials. This is not automatically sent and must be requested. At nbrc.org, an online request can be made or information needed to submit a written request by mail can be ob- tained. Understanding What the Cut Score Means Both the TMC and PFT Ex- aminations have a low cut score and a high cut score. For the TMC Examination, the low cut score earns the CRT credential. If the high cut score is achieved, you become eligible to take the CSE, which if taken and passed within the required time limit, earns you the RRT credential.
