Derivatives of piperazine are commonly used in the drug, biomedical and substance areas.

Piperazine adipate have a different chemical properties and different formula and one of the famous derivatives of Piperazine drug. Piperazine adipate is a white crystalline powder. It is odorless, and has a slightly acid taste.

Use of Piperazine Adipate

Piperazine Adipate is used as an anthelmintic for people and animals against abdominal pinworms and roundworms disease.

It is especially useful in the treatment of limited abdominal impediment due to Acaris viruses, which is generally seen with kids.

Piperazine Adipate bloks the response of the worm muscle.

While the worm is disabled, it is dislodged from the abdominal lumen and removed from the body.

Specification of Piperazine Adipate

Description : - White or almost white crystalline powder.

Solubility : - Soluble in water, practically insoluble in alcohol

Melting point : - About 250oC

PH of 5% solution : - Between 5.0 and 6.0

Appearance of solution : - 5 % aqueous solution is clear and colourless

Related substances : - Passes as per Pharmacopoeia

Heavy metals : - Passes as per Pharmacopoeia

Sulphated ash/Residue on ignition : - Not more than 0.1 % w/w

Assay : - Between 98 and 101 % w/w

Water : - Not more than 0.5 % w/w

Identity Tests of Piperazine Adipate

Dissolve 0.1 g in 5 mL of water, add 0.5 g of salt hydrogen carbonate R, 0.1 mL of mercury R and 0.5 mL of fresh ready blood potassium ferricyanide (50 g/l) TS. Shake intensely for 60 seconds or so, and allow to indicate 20 minutes; a red color gradually produces.

Dissolve 0.5 g in 10 mL mineral water and add 5 mL of muriatic acidity TS. Draw out 3 periods with ether R, using 10 mL every time, and keep the aqueous part for analyze C. Disappear the ether ingredients to dry skin and dry at 105°C: reducing heat range, about 152°C.

Identity Tests of Piperazine Adipate

Very carefully warm the aqueous part extracted from analyze B to get rid of any demolished ether. Awesome and add 0.5 g of salt nitrite R. Heat to steaming and ice for 15 minutes, mixing if necessary to generate crystallization. Narrow, clean with 10 mL of ice-water and dry the precipitate at 105°C; reducing heat range, about 158°C.
