If the bar dips to the danger point, below 25% capacity, it turns red toalert you to Hitman’s predicament.
NOTE: Damage is location-based.This means a shot to the head isalmost certain to kill Hitmanwhile a shot to the arm will not.
• THREAT METER

DISGUISES
You can use disguises and costumechanges to throw off pursuersand gain access to restricted areas. When you’re wearing a disguise,it is important that you performactions natural to the characteryou’re impersonating. Alert guardsand soldiers will notice suspiciousbehavior and inconsistentweapon usage.
SNEAKING
The ability to successfully sneakthrough areas undetected is a veryimportant skill to master. When he’smoving in Sneak Mode, Hitman’smovement is completely silent. With patience and skill it is possible
to sneak through almost anyenvironment and creep up behindany enemy. Before entering roomsthat potentially contain a threat,it is always worth your time to spythrough the keyhole or check yourmap for activity.
CLOSE COMBATAND SILENT KILLS
Hitman’s most powerful weapons arealso the most difficult to master.Close combat weapons allow Hitmanto neutralize targets without raisingalarms or creating unwanted noise.
Close combat weapons are mosteffective when used from behindon an unsuspecting enemy. In orderto get close enough to use theweapons successfully, Hitman mustuse sneaking techniques. Once he’sdirectly behind an enemy, the fullycharged close combat weapons willdeliver a fatal blow.
Close combat weapons can alsobe used in melee attacks but theireffectiveness is seriously reduced.
WEAPONSTECHNIQUES

PISTOLS AND HANDGUNS
Pistols and handguns offer a widerange of power, capacity and caliber.Easily concealed and once silenced, the pistol can be one of the mosteffective tools in Hitman’s arsenal. When used in both hands, pistolspack a high level of firepower.Clip capacity and accuracy overdistance are the main drawbacksfor the handgun class.
SUB-MACHINE GUNS (SMGs)
Typically issued to commando forcesin the military, sub-machine guns aresmall, lightweight and often usepistol ammunition. Designed for use
in close quarters, SMGs are ofteninaccurate. This is more thancompensated for by their high rateof fire and maneuverability.
ASSAULT RIFLES
The military-designed assault rifleswere developed for fire supportand combat over distances of up to300m. The rifle is in its elementwhen used outdoors and overdistance. Single shot and burst fireare a necessity if you want tomaintain accuracy.
EQUIPMENT
SHOTGUNS
Devastatingly powerful at closerange, the shotgun’s definingcharacteristics are having a smoothbore and firing “shot” from anexplosive cartridge. Designed forclose combat situations, the shotgunis mainly used by law enforcementagencies and as a hunting weapon.
MACHINE GUNS
Fully automatic, low-caliberand capable of rapid fire, the machine gun is designedto provide suppressing cover firemore than aim and accuracy.
SNIPER RIFLES
In the hands of trained professionals, the sniper rifle is perhaps the mostpowerful of all projectile weapons.Offering precision and accuracyover long distances, this weaponcan be used to eliminate targetsfrom a safe position.
The W2000 Sniper Rifle is Hitman’srifle of choice and comes silencedand concealable in its own briefcase.
NOTE: Crouching while aimingimproves the accuracy and reducesthe movement of the riflein Hitman’s hands.
WEAPONS

BINOCULARS
Excellent for surveillance and spyingon targets from a distance.
MAP
Hitman is equipped with a mapof his surroundings at all times. Usingthe map to plan your route canprevent unwanted surprises and willoften reveal hidden access points.
NIGHT VISION GOGGLES (NVGs)
When worn in a dark environment, night vision goggles amplify the lightlevels, allowing you to navigatethrough darkened areas. Normallyconfined to military use, the NVGswill draw suspicion if noticedby guards or civilians.
HINTS AND TIPS
• Proper planning always increasesthe chance of making a successfulhit. Spend time on surveillanceand try changing your approachif your current plan isn’t working.
• High-caliber ammunition willpenetrate doors and obstacles.
• Sound is Hitman’s friend. Loudmusic can often mask the soundof gunshots, allowing the useof firearms to go unnoticed.
• Keep your eye on the Threat Meterwhen accessing areas that areout of bounds.
