This residential programme has been designed for medical and clinicaloncologists, who wish to improve their skills or those who are preparing for thenational or ESMO board exam. The programme will expose participants to a fullspectrum of issues in clinical and medical oncology from basic science toadvanced knowledge of systemic therapy as well as in the multidisciplinarytreatment approach. It is intended to cover all major topics of ESMO-ASCOcurriculum on medical oncology.
The programme focuses on cancer pathology and molecular biology,pharmacology of anti-cancer drugs and on frequent cancers such as breast, lung,gastro-intestinal, gynaecological and head and neck cancer. Spotlight sessions willprovide inside on state of the art approaches in melanoma, sarcoma, thyroidcancer and on palliative care. Furthermore, practical training will be offered in theframe of clinical case presentations, prepared and presented by the participantsand faculty for an interactive discussion.
All participants will reside at the Masterclass venue and participation is mandatorythroughout the course. At the end of each of the five days a learning self-assessment discussion with the chair of the course will be provided.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: 27 APRIL 2014
IDEAL MASTERCLASS CANDIDATE• Age up to 40 years• At least 2-3 years’ experience mainly in medical oncology or clinical oncology• Involvement in scientific activities• Fluency in English
Priority will be given to candidates practising in Eastern Europe and Balkan Regioncountries.
HOW TO APPLYApplication may be carried out online or by filling in the form at www.eso.net (or on request to [email protected]) and providing:
• Letter describing motivation for attending• Supporting letter by the mentor or head of department• CV with a list of publications (if the list of publication is not provided, it will be assumedthat no articles have been published)
Pre-selected participants will be requested to submit an abstract of a clinical case related to one of the topics covered by the programme (breast cancer, gastro-intestinal tumours,lung cancer).
CME ACCREDITATIONApplication for CME recognition will be submitted to the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) for ESMO-MORA accreditation, to the Accreditation Council of Oncology in Europe (ACOE) and to the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME), an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS). EACCME credits are recognised by the American Medical Association towards the Physician’s Recognition Award (PRA). Information on the status of the applications can be obtained from the organisingsecretariat.
