    Correct use

    This dishwasher is only intendedfor washing household utensils

    suitable for machine washing. Do not put any solvents in the

    dishwasher. This could cause anexplosion.

    Knives and other items with sharppoints must be loaded in thecutlery basket with their pointsdown or placed in a horizontalposition in the upper basket.

    Only use products (detergent, saltand rinse aid) suitable fordishwashers.

    Avoid opening the door whilst theappliance is in operation, hotsteam may escape.

    Do not take any dishes out of thedishwasher before the end of thedishwashing cycle.

    Safety information

    After use, isolate the appliancefrom the power supply and turn offthe water supply.

    This product should be servicedonly by an authorised serviceengineer, and only genuine spareparts should be used.

    General safety

    Dishwasher detergents can causechemical burns to eyes, mouth andthroat. Could endanger life!Comply with the safety instructions

    of the dishwasher detergentmanufacturer.

    The water in your dishwasher isnot for drinking. Detergent residuesmay still be present in yourmachine.

    Ensure that the door of thedishwasher is always closed whenit is not being loaded or unloaded.In this way you will avoid anybody

    tripping over the open door andhurting themselves.

    Do not sit or stand on the opendoor.

    Child safety

    This appliance is designed to beoperated by adults. Dont allowchildren to use the dishwasher

    unsupervised. Keep all packaging well away from

    children. There is risk ofsuffocation.

    Keep all detergents in a safe placeout of childrens reach.

    Installation

    Check your dishwasher for anytransport damage. Never connecta damaged machine. If yourdishwasher is damaged contactyour supplier.

    All packaging must be removedbefore use.

    Any electrical and plumbing workrequired to install this appliancemust be carried out by a qualifiedand competent person.

    For safety reasons it is dangerousto alter the specifications orattempt to modify this product in

    any way. Never use the dishwasher if the

    electrical supply cable and waterhoses are damaged; or if thecontrol panel, work top or plintharea are damaged such that theinside of the appliance is freelyaccessible. Contact your localService Force centre, in order toavoid hazard.

    All sides of the dishwasher mustnever be drilled to prevent damageto hydraulic and electriccomponents.

    For electrical and water connectioncarefully follow the instructions

    given in specific paragraphs.

    End of programme Illuminates when a washing programme hasended. It also has added functions of visual

    signalling as:- the setting of the water softener,

    - activation/deactivation of the audible signals,

    - intervention of an alarm due to themalfunction of the machine.

    Salt Illuminates when the special salt has run out.

    Rinse aid Illuminates when the rinse aid has run out.

    The salt indicator light on thecontrol panel can remainilluminated for 2-6 hours after the

    salt has been replenished,assuming the dishwasher remainsswitched on. If you are using saltsthat take longer to dissolve thenthis can take longer. The functionof the machine is not affected.

    Setting mode

    The appliance is in setting modewhen all programme indicator light are

    off and end of programme indicatorlight is flashing.

    Always remember that when:- setting the water softener,- activating/deactivating the audible

    signals,the appliance MUST be in setting

    mode.If a programme indicator light isilluminated and end of programmeindicator light is illuminated with fixedlight, the last performed or selectedprogramme still set.In this case, to return to setting mode,the programme has to be cancelled.

    1. Press and hold the programmeselection/cancel button until thelight of the set programme turnsoff and the end of programmeindicator light is flashing.

    2. Release the programmeselection/cancel button.

    Factory setting: audible signalsactivated.It is possible to deactivate the audiblesignals, using the programmeselection/cancel button.

    Audible signals

    Audible signals have been introducedto help indicate which operations thedishwasher is performing:

    - end of programme

    - intervention of an alarm due tomalfunction

    Deactivation/activation of theaudible signals

    1. Press the On/Off button. Thedishwasher must be in settingmode.

    2. Press and hold the programmeselection/cancel button until

    programme light 1 flashes andprogramme light 2 illuminates witha fixed light.

    3. Press programmeselection/cancel button again,programme light 1 illuminates witha fixed light and programme light 2starts flashing.

    4. Wait until:- programme light 1 turns off,- programme light 2 goes onflashing

    - the end of programme indicatorlight illuminates with a fixed light,

    indicating that the audible signalsare activated.

    5. To deactivate the audible signals,press the programmeselection/cancel button again: theend of programme indicator lightturns off indicating that the audiblesignals are deactivated.

    6. To memorise the operation, switchoff the dishwasher.

    To activate again the audible signalssimply follow the above operationsuntil the end of programme indicatorlight illuminates.

    Before using your dishwasher for thefirst time:

    Ensure that the electrical and

    water connections comply with theinstallation instructions

    Remove all packaging from insidethe appliance

    Set the water softener

    Pour 1 litre of water inside the saltcontainer and then fill withdishwasher salt

    Fill the rinse aid dispenser

    When using combi detergentstablets (3 in 1, 4 in 1, 5 in 1,etc...) follow the instructions givenin "Use of detergent".

    First use

    Set the water softener

    The dishwasher is equipped with awater softener designed to remove

    minerals and salts from the watersupply, which would have adetrimental or adverse effect on theoperation of the appliance.

    The higher the content of theseminerals and salts, the harder yourwater is.

    Water hardness is measured inequivalent scales, Clarke degrees(dH), French degrees (TH) and

    mmol/l (millimol per litre - internationalunit for the hardness of water).

    The softener should be adjustedaccording to the hardness of thewater in your area. Your local WaterAuthority can advise you on thehardness of the water in your area.

    The water softener must be set inboth ways: manually, using the waterhardness dial and electronically.

    Setting manually

    The dishwasher is factory set atposition 2.

    1. Open the dishwasher door.

    2. Remove the lower basket from thedishwasher.

    3. Turn the water hardness dial toposition 1 or 2 (see table).

    4. Replace the lower basket.

    Setting electronically

    The dishwasher is factory set atlevel 5.

    1. Press the On/Off button. Thedishwasher must be in settingmode.

    2. Press and hold the programmeselection/cancel button untilprogramme light 1 flashes andprogramme light 2 illuminates witha fixed light.

    3. Wait until:

    - programme light 2 turns off,- programme light 1 goes on

    flashing

    - the end of programme indicatorlight starts flashing: the nimber offlashes corresponds to thecurrent level set. The flashing isrepeated with a pause of a fewseconds. Examples: 5 flashes,pause, 5 flashes, pause, etc... =

    level 5.

    4. To change the level, press theprogramme selection/cancelbutton. Each time the button ispressed the level increase. (level 1follows level10). The end ofprogramme light indicates the

    new setting.5. To memorise the operation, switch

    off the dishwasher by pressing theOn/Off button.

    Filling with rinse aid

    Rinse aid ensures thorough rinsing,and spot and streak free drying.

    Rinse aid is automatically addedduring the last rinse.

    1. Open the container by pressingthe release button (A).

    2. Add the rinse aid in the container.The maximum level for filling isindicated by "max".

    The dispenser holds about 110 ml of

    rinse aid, which is sufficient forbetween 16 and 40 dishwashingcycles, depending upon the dosagesetting.

    According to the finish and dryingresults obtained, adjust the dose ofrinse aid by means of the 6 positionselector (position 1 minimum dosage,position 6 maximum dosage).

    The dose is factory set in position 4.

    Increase the dose if there are drops ofwater or lime spots on the dishes afterwashing.

    Reduce it if there are sticky whitishstreaks on the dishes or a bluish filmon glassware or knife blades.

    3. Ensure that the lid is closed after

    every refill.

    Clean up any rinse aid spilt duringfilling with an absorbent cloth toavoid excess foaming during thenext wash.

    Only use branded rinse aid fordishwashers.

    Never fill the rinse aid dispenserwith any other substances (e.g.dishwasher cleaning agent, liquiddetergent).This would damage theappliance.

    Check if its necessary to refill withdishwasher salt or rinse aid

    Load cutlery and dishes into the

    dishwasher.

    Fill with dishwasher detergent .

    Select a wash programme suitablefor the cutlery and dishes.

    Start the wash programme.

    Loading cutlery and dishes

    Sponges, household cloths and anyobject that can absorb water may notbe washed in the dishwasher.

    Before loading the dishes, youshould:

    - Remove all left over food anddebris.

    - Soften remnants of burnt food inpans

    When loading the dishes andcutlery, please note:

    - Dishes and cutlery must notimpede the rotation of the sprayarms .

    - Load hollow items such as cups,glasses, pans, etc. with theopening downwards so that water

    cannot collect in the container ora deep base.

    - Dishes and items of cutlery mustnot lie inside one another, orcover each other.

    - To avoid damage to glasses, theymust not touch.

    Daily use

    - Lay small objects in the cutlerybasket.

    Plastic items and pans with teflonhave a tendency to retain waterdrops; these items will not dry aswell as porcelain and steel items.

    For washing in the dishwasher the following cutlery and dishes

    are not suitable: - Cutlery with wooden, horn, china or mother-of-pearls handles.

    - Plastic items that are not heat resistant.

    - Older cutlery with glued parts that are nottemperature resistant.

    - Bonded cutlery items or dishes.

    - Pewter or copper items.

    - Lead crystal glass.

    - Steel items prone to rusting.

    - Wooden platters.

    - Items made from synthetics fibres.

    are of limited suitability: - Only wash stoneware in the dishwasher if it isspecially marked as being dishwasher-safe by themanufacturer.

    - Glazed patterns may fade if machine washedfrequently.

    - Silver and aluminium parts have a tendency todiscolour during washing: Residues, e.g. egg

    white, egg yolk and mustard often causediscolouring and staining on silver. Thereforealways clean left-overs from silver immediately, if itis not to be washed straight after use.

    Open the door and slide out thebaskets to load the dishes.

    The lower basket

    The lower basket is designed to takesaucepans, lids, plates, salad bowls,

    cutlery etc.Serving dishes and large lids shouldbe arranged around the edge of thebasket, ensuring that the spray armscan turn freely.

    The cutlery basket

    Long bladed knives stored in anupright position are a potentialhazard.

    Long and/or sharp items of cutlerysuch as carving knives must bepositioned horizontally in the upperbasket.

    Take care when loading orunloading sharp items such asknives.

    Forks and spoons should be placed inthe removable cutlery basket with thehandles facing downwards and theknives with their handles facingupwards.

    If the handles protrude from thebottom of the basket, obstructing thelower spray arm, load the cutlery withthe handles facing upwards.

    Mix spoons with other cutlery toprevent them from sticking together.

    For best results we recommend youto use the cutlery grid provided (if thesize and dimensions of the cutleryallow it).

    Glasses with long stems can beplaced upside down in the cup racks.

    For taller items, the cup racks can befolded upwards.

    Light items (plastic bowls etc.) must

    be loaded in the upper basket andarranged so they do not move.

    The upper basket

    The upper basket is designed forplates (dessert plates, saucers, dinnerplates of up to 24 cm in diameter),salad bowls, cups and glasses.

    Arrange items on and underneath thecup racks so that water can reach allsurfaces.

    Before closing the door, ensure that

    the spray arms can rotate freely.

    Adjusting the height of the upper basket

    If washing very large plates you can load them in the lower basket after movingthe upper basket to the higher position.

    Maximum height of the dishes in:

    the upperbasket

    20 cm 31 cm

    the lowerbasket

    With upper basket raised

    24 cm 27 cmWith upper basket lowered

    When the basket is in the higherposition you will not be able to usethe cup racks.

    After loading your machine always

    close the door, as an open door canbe a hazard.

    To move to the higher position

    proceed as follows:

    1. Move the front runner stops (A) ofthe upper basket outwards andslide the basket out.

    2. Refit the basket in the higherposition and replace the stops (A)in their original position.

    Use of detergent

    Only use detergents specifically

    designed for use in dishwashers.Please observe the manufacturersdosing and storage recommendationsas stated on the detergent packaging.

    Using no more than the correctamount of detergent contributes toreducing pollution.

    Fill with detergent

    1. Open the lid.

    2. Fill the detergent dispenser (1)with detergent. The markingindicates the dosing levels:

    20 = approximately 20 g ofdetergent

    30 = approximately 30 g ofdetergent

    3. All programmes with prewash need

    an additional detergent dose (5/10g) that must be placed in theprewash detergent chamber (2).This detergent will take effectduring the prewash phase.

    When using detergent tablets;place the tablet in compartment (1)

    4. Close the lid and press until it

    locks in place.

    Detergent tablets

    Detergent tablets from differentmanufactures dissolve at differentrates. For this reason, some detergenttablets do not attain their full cleaningpower during short washingprogrammes. Therefore, please uselong washing programmes whenusing detergent tablets, to ensure thecomplete removal of detergentresiduals.

    Use of combi detergent tablets

    These products are detergents with a

    combined cleaning, rinsing and saltfunctions. They can also contain otherdifferent agents depending on whichkind of tablets you choose (3 in 1,4 in 1, 5 in 1 etc...).

    1. Check whether these detergentsare suitable for your waterhardness. Follow themanufacturers instructions.

    2. Select the lowest setting for waterhardness and rinse aid dosage.

    3. Before the start of the washingprogramme put the combidetergent tablet in the detergentdispenser.

    The refilling of the salt container andthe rinse aid dispenser are no longernecessary. In this case the rinse aidindicator light will always remainilluminated when the machine isswitched on (not all dishwashermodels are foreseen with rinse aidindicator light).

    If the drying results are notsatisfactory we recommend thatyou:

    1. Fill up the rinse aid dispenser withrinse aid.

    2. Set the rinse aid dosage toposition 2.

    If you decide to turn back to theuse of the standard detergentsystem we advise that you:

    1. Fill up the dispensers for salt andrinse aid again.

    2. Adjust the water hardness settingto the highest setting and perform1 normal washing programmewithout loading any dishes.

    3. Adjust the water hardness settingaccording to the hardness of thewater in your area.

    4. Adjust the rinse aid dosage.

    Select and start a washingprogramme

    Select the washing programme anddelay start with the door slightlyopened. The start of theprogramme or the countdown ofthe delay start will occur only afterthe closure of the door. Until thatmoment it is possible to modify theset made.

    1. Check that the baskets have beenloaded correctly and that the spray

    arms are free to rotate

    2. Check that the water tap is opened

    3. Press the On/Off button. Thedishwasher must be in settingmode. The end of programmeindicator light is flashing.

    4. Press the programmeselection/cancel button until thelight corresponding to the requiredwashing programme illuminates(see "Washing programmes"chart).

    Close the dishwashers door, theprogramme starts automatically.

    3. The opening of the door willinterrupt the countdown. Close thedoor; the countdown will continuefrom the point at which it wasinterrupted.

    4. Once the delay start has elapsedthe programme will startautomatically.

    Setting and starting the programmewith "delay start"

    1. After having selected the washingprogramme, press the delay startbutton This option allows the startof the washing programme to bedelayed by 3 hours. Thecorresponding light illuminates,

    2. Close the dishwashers door, thecountdown starts automatically.

    Interrupt or cancel a washingprogramme in progress ONLY if its

    absolutely necessary.Attention! Hot steam may escapewhen the door is opened. Open thedoor carefully.

    Interrupt a washing programme inprogress:

    Open the dishwasher door; theprogramme will stop. Close thedoor; the programme will start from

    the point at which it wasinterrupted.

    Cancel a washing programme inprogress

    Open the dishwasher door; pressthe programme selection/cancelbutton for about 3 seconds, untilthe light of the running programmeturns off and the end of

    programme indicator light flashes.The washing programme has beencancelled and the appliance is nowin setting mode.

    If a new washing programme is tobe selected, check that there isdetergent in the detergentdispenser.

    Cancelling the "delay start"

    To cancel a delay start in progress,open the door and press the delaystart button, the correspondinglight turns off.

    Close the door, the set washingprogramme will start automatically.

    End of the washing programme

    The dishwasher will automaticallystop and an audible signal informsyou of the end of the washingprogramme.

    Open the dishwasher door.

    The end of programme indicatorlight is illuminated.

    The indicator light of theprogramme just ended will remainon.

    1. Switch off the dishwasher bypressing the On/Off button.

    2. Leave the dishwasher door ajarand wait a few minutes before

    removing the dishes; in this waythey will be cooler and the dryingwill be improved.

    Unloading the dishwasher

    Hot dishes are sensitive to knocks.The dishes should therefore beallowed to cool down beforeremoving from the appliance.

    Empty the lower basket first andthen the upper one; this will avoidwater dripping from the upperbasket onto the dishes in the lowerone.

    Water may appear on the sidesand the door of the dishwasher asthe stainless steel will eventuallybecome cooler than the dishes.

    When the washing programme hasfinished, it is recommended thatthe dishwasher is unplugged and

    the water tap turned off.

    Care and cleaning

    Cleaning the filters

    The filters must be checked andcleaned from time to time. Dirty filters

    will degrade the washing result.

    Before cleaning the filters ensurethat the machine is switched off.

    1. Open the door, remove the lowerbasket.

    2. The dishwasher filter systemcomprises a coarse filter (A), amicrofilter (B) and a flat filter.Unlock the filter system using thehandle on the microfilter, andremove.

    3. Turn the handle about 1/4 a turnanticlockwise and remove.

    4. Take hold of the coarse filter (A) bythe handle with the hole andremove from the microfilter (B).

    5. Clean all filters thoroughly underrunning water.

    6. Remove the flat filter from thebase of the washing compartmentand clean both faces thoroughly.

    7. Put the flat filter back in the baseof the washing compartment andensure that it fits perfectly underthe two guides (C).

    8. Place the coarse filter (A) in themicrofilter (B) and press together.

    9. Put the filter combination in placeand lock by turning the handleclockwise to the stop. During thisprocess ensure that the flat filterdoes not protrude above the baseof the washing compartment.

    Frost precautions

    Avoid placing the machine in alocation where the temperature isbelow 0C. If this is unavoidable,empty the machine, close theappliance door, disconnect the waterinlet pipe and empty it.

    Moving the machine

    If you have to move the machine(moving house etc....):

    1. Unplug it.

    2. Turn the water tap off.

    3. Remove the water inlet and

    discharge hoses.4. Pull the machine out together withthe hoses.

    Avoid over tilting the machine duringtransportation.

    NEVER try to remove the sprayarms.If residues of soil have clogged the

    holes in the spray arms, remove themwith a cocktail stick.

    External cleaning

    Clean the external surfaces of themachine and control panel with adamp soft cloth. If necessary use onlyneutral detergents. Never useabrasive products, scouring pads orsolvent (acetone, trichloroethylene

    etc....).Ensure that the seals around thedoor, the detergent and rinse aiddispensers are cleaned regularly witha damp cloth.

    We recommend every 3 months torun a 65C wash programme withoutdishes using detergent.

    Prolonged periods of non-operation

    If you are not using the machine forany period of time you are advised to:

    1. Unplug the appliance and thenturn off the water.

    2. Leave the door ajar to prevent theformation of any unpleasantsmells.

    3. Leave the inside of the machine

    The dishwasher will not start or stops during operation.Certain problems are due to the lack of simple maintenance or oversights,which can be solved with the help of the indications described in the chart,

    without calling out an engineer.Open the door and carry out the following suggested corrective actions.

    work required to install thisappliance should be carried out bya qualified electrician and/orplumber or competent person.

    Remove all packaging beforepositioning the machine.

    If possible, position the machine nextto a water tap and a drain.

    This dishwasher is designed to be

    fitted under a kitchen counter orworksurface.

    Attention! Carefully follow theinstructions on the enclosed templatefor building in the dishwasher andfitting the furniture panel.

    No further openings for the venting ofthe dishwasher are required, but onlyto let the water fill and drain hose andpower supply cable pass through.

    The dishwasher incorporatesadjustable feet to allow the adjustmentof the height.

    During all operations that involveaccessibility to internal componentsthe dishwasher has to be unplugged.

    When inserting the machine, ensurethat the water inlet hose, the drainhose and the supply cable are not

    kinked or squashed.

    Installation

    Water supply connections

    This dishwasher may be fed with cold

    water. For making the connectionitself, the coupling nut fitted to themachines supply hose is designed toscrew onto a 3/4" gas thread spout orto a purpose made quick-coupling tapsuch as the Press-block.

    The water pressure must be within thelimits given in the "Technicalspecifications".Your local WaterAuthority will advise you on the

    average mains pressure in your area.

    The water inlet hose must not bekinked, crushed, or entangled when itis being connected.

    The dishwasher features fill and drainhoses which can be turned either tothe left or the right to suit theinstallation by means of the locknut.The locknut must be correctly fitted

    to avoid water leaks.

    Levelling

    Good levelling is essential for correctclosure and sealing of the door.

    When the appliance is correctlylevelled, the door will not catch oneither side of the cabinet.If the door does not close correctly,loosen or tighten the adjustable feetuntil the machine is perfectly level.

    Fixing to the adjacent units

    The dishwasher must be securedagainst tilting.Therefore make sure that the counterit is fixed under, is suitably secured toa fixed structure (adjacent kitchenunits cabinets, wall).

    This appliance has been fitted withsafety features which will prevent thewater used in the appliance fromreturning back into the drinking watersystem. This appliance complies withthe applicable plumbing regulations.

    (Attention! NOT all models ofdishwashers have fill and drain hosesprovided with locknut. In this case,this kind of facility is not possible).

    If the machine is connected to new

    pipes or pipes which have not beenused for a long time, you should runthe water for a few minutes beforeconnecting the inlet hose.

    DO NOT use connection hoseswhich have previously been usedfor an old appliance.

    Water outlet hose connection

    The end of the drain hose can beconnected in the following ways:

    1. To the sink outlet spigot, securingit to the underside of the work

    surface. This will prevent wastewater from the sink running intothe machine.

    2. To a stand pipe provided with vent-hole, minimum internal diameter 4cm.

    The waste connection must be at aheight of between 30 cm (minimum)and 100 cm (maximum) from the

    bottom of the dishwasher.The drain hose can face either to theright or left of the dishwasher

    Ensure the hose is not bent orsquashed as this could prevent orslow down the discharge of water.

    The sink plug must not be in placewhen the machine is draining as thiscould cause the water to syphon backinto the machine.

    If you use a drain hose extension itmust be no longer than 2 metres andits internal diameter must be nosmaller than the diameter of the hoseprovided.

    Likewise the internal diameter of thecouplings used for connections to thewaste outlet must be no smaller thanthe diameter of the hose provided.

    machine.If the spigot of your sink has a "noreturn valve" incorporated this canprevent the correct draining of yourdishwasher. We therefore advise youto remove it.

    Electrical connection

    Safety standards require theappliance to be earthed. Themanufacturer accepts no liabilityfor failure to observe the abovesafety precautions.

    Prior to using the appliance for thefirst time, ensure that the ratedvoltage and type of supply on therating plate match that of thesupply where the appliance is to beinstalled.The fuse rating is also to

    be found on the rating plate.

    Always plug the mains plug into acorrectly installed shockproofsocket.

    Multi-way plugs, connectors andextension cables must not be used.This could constitute a fire hazardthrough overheating.

    If necessary, have the domestic

    wiring system socket replaced. Incase that the electrical cable has tobe replaced, contact your localService Force centre.
