When we learn about an artist in class, I am curious to know what you think about this artist and they work they do. This is a way for you to think about what you are seeing in their work, the reaction the work invokes for you and what it is that you find interesting. I am also curious to know if the style of this artist’s work appeals to you and why? What particular characteristics of their style appeals to you?

Introduction:-Who is this artist and how did you hear of her/him/them. -Give us a brief introduction on Escher. Please write this in YOUR OWN WORDS. Tell us who he is, where he was from, what time period and what influenced his artwork and style.

Artwork Response:-Find an artwork by Escher that you are attracted to and embed it into your blog post. Make sure to cite the work properly (title of the artwork, year it was made).-What is the first thing you noticed about their work? Was it the subject matter, their use of color, the composition? Explain what you see this work? What are we looking at? -What elements of art is dominant in this artwork by Escher? How did Escher use this element of art?

Personal Response:-What do you find inspiring about the work that you viewed? -What new ideas does this artist give you in terms of mastering perspective and understanding the use of a value scale when shading to create the illusion of depth?-Does Escher’s style of art appeal to you? Why or why not?
