Page 4: ERP Assignment

Daily report would be useful for the employee & its manager and the concerned department head.

It would also be required by the HR Management Module as well as the Financial management module to understand the expenses occurred on different employees .

SOURCE : The Attendance System ( Eg. Information obtained on swiping of cards, etc.)

SINK : The sink of the daily report include :

The Employee himself/herself to track his/her own attendance ( His/Her access would be restricted to his/her data only)

The manager (He/She can view the daily report for his/her team) HR Supervisor : To analyze the various trends in the attendance

pattern and for decision analysis.

IMPORTANCE OF THE REPORT :

1) Manager Level :

The management of workplace attendance is an important aspect of supervision

in the workplace. The cost of absenteeism is greater than the direct payment of

wages and benefits paid durance the absence. There are indirect costs of

staffing, scheduling, re-training, lost productivity(because of extra workload on

other employees), diminished moral, turnover, and opportunity cost. The indirect

costs often exceed the direct cost of absenteeism. Effective supervisory efforts

to manage attendance will affect a relatively small percentage of employees, but

will result in substantial savings, increased productivity and morale.

So it is important that managers track the employee’s attendance record and

take timely actions if required.

2) HR Level :

This report plays a key role in the accurate computation of salary. Also it helps

HR people to understand the various trends involved in the leave records of the

employees, analyze the attendance wrt level and designation, analysis of

overtime and take necessary actions.
