Water data at the GLOBE server -experience from working with the
Water Cycle theme in the e-LSEE project
Introduction
The e-LSEE group in Norway has been working with Water as the main theme. One of the reasons for this is the strong position of water in the curriculum for science in Norway.
Another reason is the number of large floods in 2002.

Floods in 2002
Water data at the GLOBE server – august 2002
Assessment of quality and usefulness of the data
• Rainfall– Monthly average calculations require
measurements in at least 20 days– Instruments are well designed.– My experience is that measurements are
reliable– But the number of schools that are measuring
rainfall is too small and scattered for more detailed investigations

Water data at the GLOBE server – Surface water conductivity
How many data are there?
Conclucions
• The number of schools that are measuring is too small• The measurements are too scattered for more detailed investigations• A few schools have excellent data series
