Writers Fair: Erickson Elementary School will celebrate the JOY OF WRITING next week by having

various activities and assemblies devoted to writing (Author Visit, Creative Writing Assembly, Poetry,

Pastries, & Parents, Word Craze Day, Writers’ Fair, & Portfolio Night) Refer to the attached flyer for more information.

5th to 6th Grade Transition Night: Parents and students attending Westfield next school year are

encouraged to attend a Transition Night at Westfield on Monday, May 9th from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Students and parents will meet the principal(s) and tour the school.

Google Expedition: Erickson students in grades 2-5 will participate in the Google Expeditions Pioneer Program on Wednesday, May 10th. Expeditions allow teachers to take their class on virtual field trips that bring abstract concepts to life and give students a deeper understanding of the world beyond the classroom. Please return permission slips for students to participate. Portfolio Night: Parents and students are invited to attend Erickson Elementary School on Thursday,

May 12, 2016, for Portfolio Night from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. This is a wonderful opportunity for students

to present their portfolio of work from the 2015-2016 school year.

IN CELEBRATION OF WRITING……. Erickson Elementary students and parents are invited to 

enjoy a light breakfast while writing poetry!  Students must attend with an adult.  Donuts, 

muffins, juice, coffee, and poetry activities will be provided from 7:45 am – 8:20 am in the 

Erickson gym. 

For ordering purposes indicate how many donuts/muffins (1 per person) and return to office.

Erickson’s thirteenth Writers’ Fair will take place the week of May 9th – 13th. There are many school-wide and classroom activities planned throughout the week. Below is a schedule of the events for the week.

Donations for the Hughes Family

The Miracle of B eing Kendall

Kendall Hughes is a 5th grade student at Erickson Elementary

School. Due to a recent medical diagnosis, Kendall has been

unable to attend school for the past couple months.

We ask that you keep the Hughes Family in your thoughts and

prayers.

The Hughes Family has created a GoFundMe page and donations

can be made through the site. Please click on the GoFundMe tab
