a panels are vasly ligher, hinner, more power-ecien, and emi ar less hea and

radiaion han CRs. And hey have reduced icker, so hey’re easier on he eyes

However, he curren prevalence o LCD or LED moniors does change some

resoluion issues. Indeed, you can change resoluion setings or many such screens

however, mos LCD/LED screens have a “swee spo” or resoluion, a naive seting

ha when alered can cause ariacs or disorion, depending on screen qualiy,

reresh raes and oher issues. Oen you’ll wan o change oher setings, such as

he ex size adjusmens explained below, raher han adjus he naive resoluion

o your a-panel screen.

Ideally, your monior should be beween 20–28 inches away rom your body; he

op o he monior’s screen should be near eye level. I should always be direcly

Under he Setings ab, you can adjus he Screen Resoluion—he number o dos

displayed on he screen—which afecs he size o he ex. Also, i you click on he

 Advanced buton, you can make some more overall adjusmens. Tese adjusmens

 vary depending on he ype o graphics card you have, so ake a look and see.

One cavea here: I you make your ex a lo larger han

he deaul size, many programs and dialog boxes will

look misaligned, and some ex may even be cu of. You

may have o ake some ime and ry diferen schemes

and oher adjusmens o adjus he deaul ex so i’s

easy o read.

For Macinosh (under OS X), while you’re in he Finder,

click on View under he main menu and selec Show View

speaking airly long passages o provided ex, and correcions oen have o be

in he uure. You do need a microphone-equipped PC wih a decen sound card
