RB Digital has 2 points of access, via our online website and via an app.

Acessing the RB Digital Web portal:

1. To begin, visit YPRL’s elibrary page: www.yprl.vic.gov.au/elibrary - and under ‘Newspapers & Magazines’ click on ‘RB Digital’.

To access the app, make sure you have internet or a wifi connection. Download the app from either the apple store, or goggle play for android tablets and phones.

3. To create an account, you will need to supply an email address and password (min 6 characters)You will also need to supply your library card number.

2. After clicking on RB Digtal, you will be taken to the eMagazine portal whereby you can browse the titles we have. To borrow, you need to create an account or log in to your exsiting account.

When you click on a magazine, you can find out the compatible Mobile Apps & Computers to read.

RB Digital App

1.Download the app via the app or play store on your device. If you have previously not created an account through the yprl web portal, then click on ‘Register now’ to create an RB Digital account and fill out the required information. - Choose ‘Australia’ from the scroll menu- Select your library name, click on ‘Create Account’- Enter your library card number- Create a username (we suggest your email address) and a password- Fill in ‘Personal Information’ accept the Terms of Service and tap on ‘Register’

2. Once logged in the first screen, you will see is a list of the titles you have already borrowed/downloaded.

3. Click on the 3 lines in the top left-hand corner to go Home, Browse all the available mag-azines, Access your account details or if you need Help.

Searching in the RB Digital App

You can use the search option (magnifying glass top right corner) to search for specific titles, use the filter to access an advanced search by genre or language.

Borrowing & Automatic in the RB Digital App

You can then click on the image of the magazine that you want, which will open a screen allowing you to access all the issues of this title and you can choose which issues to borrow. (press checkout)

You can also choose to have automatic checkouts of all new issues, by ticking the box.

Reading/ Downloading & Returning in the RB Digital App

You can then choose to either read a checked-out title (found under checked out items) straightaway or download it onto your device.

By ‘reading’ a Magazine, you are using internet through streaming a magazine, while ‘downloading’ you are downloading the magazine so that it can be viewed at a later date without internet

When finished you also have the option of keeping or returning the magazine. You can return by pressing return when in read-ing mode or pressing the cross at the top right corner of the mag in your checkout screen.

Reading the Magazines

Tap on a magazine and it will open or click on read. The Default view is full screen, single page in portrait mode or double page in landscape mode.

You can move the article around or enlarge using on screen hand gestures (flick, swipe, stretch etc).Tap in the middle of the screen for more options, this brings up contents, format and text.

Reading the Magazines

In Format you can:- change image brightness- change font size when in text mode- background of page- Text to speech mode when viewed in text mode

In Contents you can:- view the magazine by pagesor - view the magazine by articles

In Text you can:- Text mode allows you to read the articles and change the setting to suit you. - it switches the document from PDF to text.

Tips & Tricks

With RB digital you can:

• elect to be notified to receive the next issue.

• you can bookmark a page when using the web portal version

• you can print a page, great for recipes, when using the web portal version of RB digitial

• the URLs are typically live within the RB digital web portal version, so the link takes you to a different browser tab for you to visit that site.

• you can create a collection with RB digital’s web portal and go straight to those titles without scrolling through ones you don’t want.

•some titles within the App have interactive content (eg Nat Geo). Some titles within the web version may have interactive content as well

• Within the app you can jump to a specific page and find table of contents. Some titles within the web version may have these features as well.
