Status of Regional Standards

● CIP-001-2a FERC Approved on August 2! Effective: October 1, 2011

● TO and GO must be IN COMPLIANCE on October 1 Procedures written, approved and disseminated (R1 and R2) Guidelines provided to operating personnel (R3) Established FBI contact and developed reporting procedures

● If not in compliance on October 1 – Self Report

● Several GO audits are scheduled for 4Q11 Entities will need to show 10/1/11 compliance regardless when

you are audited

Status of Regional Standards

● BAL-001-TRE Standard Drafting Team completed work and approved

standard for ballot• Posted on Texas RE Standards Tracking Site and TexasRE.org

RSC approved for ballot on August 5• Ballot Pool open for 30 days: August 9 – September 8, 2011

• Ballot will be open for 15 days after that: September 9 – September 23

Technical Workshop held on August 24 Texas RE Board Presentation – September 27

• Board approval in October

Status of Regional Standards

● SAR-002 – UFLS Drafting team met on August 22 and voted to

recommend withdrawing SAR-002 and disbanding the standard drafting team.

• PRC-006-1 (UFLS) filed at FERC in March 2011• June letter from NERC management

♦ Superseded 2007 letter that suggested Regions develop UFLS standards

♦ Recognizes progress of NERC standards

♦ Gives Region discretion to develop regional standards

This recommendation will be presented to the RSC for approval at an upcoming meeting.
