HEInnovate – self-assessment
• A self-assessment tool for higher education institutions who wish to explore their entrepreneurial / innovative potential
• Helping higher education institutions identify their current situation and potential areas for action
• Eight broad areas, with statements for self-assessment
• Allows assessment of HEI in a holistic way
• Diagnoses areas of strengths and weaknesses across eight areas, 42 different statements
• Flexible and adaptable to context
• Stakeholder involvement
• Opens up discussion and debate associated with the entrepreneurial / innovative nature of your institution
• Compares and contrasts evolution over time
• Provides access to high quality learning materials

How are the results displayed?
Upon submission of the self-assessment, the average results
are displayed as a bar chart (above), and additional resources are recommended (to the right)
What happens to the results in a group?
The group results are displayed for the group administrator in
various charts that can be tailored (online) and
downloaded
• Supported HEIs to use the tool and build on the results to define and implement suitable action plans. Follow-up implementation and assess development. Document and share the process and results.
• Activities involved (not exhaustive):
– Exchange of good practice; peer-to-peer support; developing communities of practice; toolkits and support materials; training activities; workshops; conferences/seminars; external evaluation and accreditation.
– A further focus could be on extending the tools to new sectors of education (eg non-formal learning, adult education, VET), exploring synergies between HEInnovate and SELFIE or interconnecting the tool with similar programmes or initiatives at regional, national or international level.

• Core questions, optional and create your own
• Send links to questions to staff and students

• 20-30 mins to complete, any device

• Questions in six areas (eg teacher training, infrastructure, digital competence)

• Can kick-start conversation about technology use
