● analytical and conceptual activities: analytical reports on EU-Russia R&D and innovation cooperation, foresight exercise on future institutional cooperation (funding programmes) and thematic priorities
● Preparing and implementing PILOT JOINT CALLs for R&D and innovation projects of programme owners in EU MS/AC and Russia
● developing a sustainable S&T programme between EU MS / AC and Russia

an international, independent peer-review procedure:
1. Applications are assessed by independent external scientific experts
2. A Scientific Advisory Board, consisting of high level scientific experts consolidates the results of the evaluation
3. The final funding decisions are made by the Funding Parties
