Buying Christmas Presents Online? Is it too

early?!!Don’t forget if you are buying presents online you can raise money for the school

without doing a thing! Go through ‘easyfundraising’ either using the link on the

school website ‘Parents’ – ‘Friends of Cheriton ’ page (scroll down to the bottom

or go directly to

http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/cheritonprimary

The ‘easyfundraising’ site will take you to the retailer (Amazon, M&S, Argos,

John Lewis, Comet, Vodafone, eBay, Boden and Play.com - there are over

2,000), then a percentage of whatever you spend comes directly to us at no

extra cost to yourself. It’s the easiest way to help raise money for ‘Friends’ and

the school. Thanks to all those who have already signed up, happy shopping

everyone!

NUT FREE SCHOOL We have had a few cases of food containing nuts being brought into school. Please read AND adhere to the following quote from Hampshire County Council “We are a nut free school – this means we ask all parents not to send their children in with nuts and we do not give out nuts as snacks. This is to minimise the risks for any pupils with allergens.”

Class 2’s Guy was chosen as the winner at the Cheriton Fireworks

Display. They were rewarded with a book token courtesy of Mr May of

Cheriton House. A huge thank you for his kind generosity and

WELL DONE to Class 2, ROBINS.

SHOE BOX APPEAL

scheme is run by our local Rotary Club for disadvantaged children in Albania, Montenegro, Moldova and

Romania. If you have not received a leaflet explaining this worthwhile cause and would like to take part,

Dear Parents / Guardians,

Welcome to our Christmas Card Project which we are undertaking in partnership

with Art Projects for Schools Ltd (APFS).

The funds raised through your support will be used towards resources for the school,

from which your child will benefit. Importantly, the items recognise and celebrate

your child’s creative effort and are great to send to family and friends.

The accompanying artwork your child has created will be accurately reproduced in

full colour onto Christmas cards that are available in packs of 12. Additional items

are also available such as packs of 6 larger gloss coated luxury Christmas cards,

packs of 12 folded gift tags and packs of 3 wrapping paper sheets. The quality of

reproduction is excellent as is the quality of the items; samples will be available to

view at the school office.

To order, simply visit https://www.apfsorders.co.uk, and input the unique artwork

code - found on the label on the reverse of the artwork - and your child’s first name

and surname. Orders must be placed by midnight on Friday 9th November. Any

orders placed after this date will be classed as a late order and will be subject to a

handling and postage fee. Benefits to ordering online include being able to personal-

ise your items with your child’s name and/or school, create your own custom greet-

ings, and pay securely by debit or credit card. Any enquiries relating to the project

should be addressed to the office staff.

Children in Need – “DO YOUR THING” Once again we will be supporting Children in Need, Friday 16th November. As this years

theme is to “DO YOUR THING” to raise money for Children in Need, it has been

decided the children, and staff, should come to school in their nightwear in exchange

for a £1 coin to put on our large ‘Pudsey Bear’ on the floor in the hall. The children can

go to as little or as much effort as they like but please make sure that they have lots

of layers on so they are warm at playtimes. We will also be selling Pudsey and Blush ears

in the school office; they will be £2.50 each.

School Photographs The school photographer will be visiting on Monday 19th November 2018 to take

individual and sibling photographs. Any orders will be ready in time for Christmas; they

make lovely gifts for grandparents etc. If you have a pre-school child and would like to

have a photograph with their older siblings, please bring them along at 8.30am on this

day. The photographers will return again in the summer term to take class photographs.

Children might like to bring a brush and look smart on the day!
