We have worked out the cost of all activities that are curriculum based for the entire year and will be providing families with various payment options. The curriculum contribution will ensure your child participates in all incursions for their grade and one excursion. When excursions are planned, a note will be sent home and all that will be required is a signature on the permission slip. The curriculum contribution does not include any extra curricula involvement (such as PSSA, dance, drama, etc. or any fundraising events.) We hope that the introduction of this process will lessen the stress on family budgets. Principal’s Message

CURRICULUM CONTRIBUTIONS 2017 will see the trial of one-off curriculum contributions for students in Kindergarten to Year 4 (with opt in available for families with students in Years 5 and 6). Please note that when money is received, it is logged against each family and as such, any funds that are not utilised throughout the year are carried over for use the following year. We will send curriculum contribution notes out towards the end of this year so that families can start to plan.

STAFFING It is with great excitement that I share the news that Andrina Watts has been permanently appointed to Glenmore Park PS. Mrs Watts is replacing Mrs Suzanne Herring who after a couple of years of

leave has made the decision to leave the teaching profession. I take this opportunity to thank Mrs Herring for all she has done for the students at Glenmore Park throughout her years of service at the school. It will be with great sadness that we will be farewelling another staff member, one of our founding teaching staff at the end of this year. Mrs Deborah Small has been successful in gaining a transfer to Fern-hill School which is due to open at the beginning of 2017. Mrs Small has been an integral part of the Glenmore Park PS family and has not only helped build the school over the past 20 years, but has been instrumental in improving student outcomes for our students with additional needs. On behalf of the whole school community, I thank you Mrs Small for your dedication, hard work and commitment to all. We wish you well at your next school.

NEIGHBOURS We have received complaints from some of our neighbours pertaining to the garbage that is ending up in their front lawns. One day last week a soiled nappy was left in one of our neighbour’s yards. I ask for your assistance in ensuring that we respect our neighbours and not leave any garbage laying around. Your cooperation is appreciated.

PCG Last Wednesday we held our Term 4 meeting. The school sought feedback on aspects of our Welfare program,

including our Anti Bullying policy. Elections were also held for the 2017 executive positions. Congratulations to Kate Clay who remains in the Chairperson position and to Rachel Scott (Vice Chair - Fundraising) and Shannan Williams (Vice Chair - Belonging). More information will be distributed early next year asking for volunteers to form these committees.

CHICKEN POX We have had a case of chicken pox reported to the office. Please be aware of the symptoms listed below and make an appointment with your doctor if you suspect your child may have contracted chicken pox. Symptoms included: tiredness as well as a fever and swollen glands; and a rash that initially appears as red spots but develops in to small blisters over the body.
