1. HANDS-FREE GESTURE LIFTGATE. Open and close the liftgate simply by using a kicking motion under the rear bumper. It’s so nice to have when you’ve got your hands full. Standard on Premier.

2. PROGRAMMABLE LIFTGATE. The power liftgate features a programmable memory height that can be set for easy reach or to accommodate areas with low ceilings. Available on LT and standard on Premier.

3. A PLACE FOR YOUR UMBRELLA. Weather the storm with umbrella storage in both front door pockets. There’s also bottle storage in all four doors.

SAFETY

SAFETY STARTS WITH YOU. Safety features are no substitute for the driver’s responsibility to operate the vehicle in a safe manner. The driver should remain attentive to traffic, surroundings and road conditions at all times. Read the vehicle Owner’s Manual for important feature limitations and information.

AVAILABLE ADVANCED SAFETY TECHNOLOGY HELPS COVER ALL THE ANGLES.

LOW SPEED FORWARD AUTOMATIC BRAKING. Available on Premier, camera-based Low Speed Forward Automatic Braking may help mitigate front-end collisions with detected vehicles at speeds below 60 km/h. It does this by applying the brakes if the driver has not already done so to reduce the collision’s severity. The system may even help avoid a collision at very low speeds.

FORWARD COLLISION ALERT. This available feature helps identify vehicles ahead and warns the driver of possible front-end collision threats, helping to provide you time to stop and/or change course. If the system determines that a front-end collision with a detected vehicle is imminent, it alerts the driver to a potential crash. It also warns the driver if their Equinox is following a detected vehicle much too closely.

LANE KEEP ASSIST WITH LANE DEPARTURE WARNING. At speeds above 60 km/h, this available camera-based system monitors road lines and will gently turn the steering wheel if the vehicle begins changing lanes without the use of a turn signal.

AVAILABLE LANE CHANGE ALERT WITH SIDE BLIND ZONE ALERT. Radar sensors in the rear corners of the vehicle help detect fast-approaching vehicles in the adjacent lanes as well as vehicles in the side mirror blind zones. Amber icons in the exterior mirrors indicate a vehicle’s presence.

REAR CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT. Using the same radar sensors as Lane Change Alert, this available feature alerts you to crossing traffic behind your Equinox when backing up. If approaching vehicles are detected from either side, visual alerts on the rear vision camera screen are triggered along with audible beeps or Safety Alert Driver Seat pulses, if equipped.

REAR VISION CAMERA. Standard on all models, the rear vision camera displays a view of the area immediately behind the vehicle on the touch-screen — making it easier to see what’s behind you while backing up.

REAR PARK ASSIST. Ideal when backing into a parking spot at low speeds, this available system senses stationary objects and warns you if an object is too close. The rear vision camera automatically displays a live image of the area behind the vehicle on the touch-screen display after you shift into Reverse.

SURROUND VISION. This new available feature helps make parallel parking and manoeuvring at low speeds into tight garage spaces easier. Surround Vision gives you a virtual bird’s-eye view of your Equinox on the 8-in. diagonal colour touch-screen. The system is made up of four cameras — the standard rear vision camera, a forward-looking camera in the front grille and one under each side mirror of the vehicle. All camera viewpoints simultaneously merge to transmit a clear side-by-side digital image to the display screen, helping you to see the areas behind and around you. You’ll get the full view with one look.

INTELLIBEAM HEADLAMPS. When oncoming headlamps are sensed or when tail lamps are detected in front of you, the available IntelliBeam® high beam assist intuitively adjusts between low and high beams.

SAFETY ALERT DRIVER SEAT. This available seat uses directional vibration pulses from the seat cushion instead of audible crash avoidance alerts to help indicate the direction of potential collision threats. This patented warning approach is tied into other available onboard crash avoidance systems.

ALL-NEW 1.6L TURBO-DIESEL ENGINE. This available engine is efficient, fun to drive and quiet. The turbocharger helps provide excellent low-end torque for smooth merging and passing power. Advanced features include stop/start technology and a common rail fuel system.

6-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. Tuned for quick launch feel and fuel-efficient cruising, the 6-speed automatic perfectly complements the turbo-diesel engine. Adaptive Shift Control with Automatic Grade Braking may reduce the need to brake during a hill descent.

1.5L TURBO ENGINE. This new turbocharged 4-cylinder engine uses the technologies of Continuously Variable Valve Timing and Direct Injection to deliver responsive performance with unexpected efficiency. Horsepower is 170 and torque is 203 lb.-ft.

STOP/START ENGINE TECHNOLOGY. Standard on every Equinox, this technology automatically shuts down the engine as you come to a stop under certain driving conditions, such as at a stoplight. The engine seamlessly restarts when you take your foot off the brake.

NEW CAPLESS FUEL SYSTEM. An ingenious capless fuel system is something you’ll appreciate every time you fill up. Behind the fuel-filler door, a small spring-loaded door replaces the traditional screw-on gas cap. Included on Equinox models with 1.5L and 2.0L engines only.

SWITCHABLE ALL-WHEEL DRIVE. This all-new system, available on all models, helps enhance traction and control on slippery or snow-covered roads. Switchable AWD lets you change between FWD and AWD operation while you’re on the go. In FWD mode, the system

disengages AWD components for greater fuel efficiency.

2.0L TURBO ENGINE. The available 252-horsepower 2.0L turbocharged engine takes performance to an even higher level. The turbocharger generates up to 138 kPa (20 psi) of boost for the torque you’d normally expect from a larger-displacement engine.
