• Axis of evil- a term initially used by the former United States President George W. Bush in his State of the Union Address on January 29, 2002, describing governments that he accused of helping terrorism and seeking weapons of mass destruction.

• Islamist extremist- a group of Muslim people who commit acts of religious terrorism mostly due to their religious beliefs, and sometimes to achieve varying political ends in the name of religion.

• Al-Qaeda- a global militant Islamist organization founded by Osama bin Laden at some point between August 1988 and late 1989.

• August 23, 1996- Osama Bin Laden writes “The Declaration of Jihad”

• August 7, 1998- East African embassy bombings (Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, and Kenya).

• September 20, 2001- President George W. Bush vows to retaliate.

• October 7, 2001- U.S forces, assisted by the British, commence air attacks against Afghanistan.

• November 12, 2002- A voice recording suspected to be Osama Bin Laden is found.

• May 2, 2011- A top secret attack in Pakistan results in Osama Bin Laden's death.

• June 19, 2011-Obama Makes and announcement saying U.S”s goals in Afghanistan have been reached.

The U.S and Al-Qaeda both commenced multiple attacks on each other causing numerous Retaliation Attacks. Here are

a few of them:• August 7, 1998- In east Africa, bombings occurred on

the U.S Embassy.• August 20, 1998- U.S decides to retaliate after the

attack on the embassy• September 11, 2001- One of the most known terrorist

attacked in the U.S• September 20, 2001- President Bush announces his

plans to retaliate against the persons responsible for this

Both Presidents were in office during the time of the Conflict:

• Bush:

- Vowed to retaliate after 9/11

- Announces the commencing of air attacks on Afghanistan

- He gave a speech announcing the end of major combat operations in the Iraq War • Obama:

- He lead an attack in Abbottabad, Afghanistan, which resulted in Osama Bin Laden's Death.

- He announced that he would begin Withdrawing troops from afghanistan.

• It was written by Osama Bin Laden on August 23, 1996

• He Wrote it to describe the recent attacks and he described how the more that they were attacked by the U.s and other countries, the more they would attack.
