    ePortfolio Proposal

The metaphor I would like to use for my portfolio is as the river flows because I feel that I had

a clear direction where I was going with the MET program but I also encountered many

unexpected and wonderful new divergent flows which greatly contributed to my evolution as

an educator. It brought me in contact with many wonderful people and discoveries which I am

grateful for. On this journey I was able to entertain cursory glances, become more acquainted

with new ideas, and delve deeply into ideas I am passionate about. I chose the metaphor of a

river in order to reflect upon the journey that was my MET experience. I also would like to

reflect upon the varied experiences I have encountered along the way which have shaped me

as an educator. I feel the river metaphor is appropriate because of the various sources that

form a river. It starts as a tiny trickle, but with rapids, still pools, tributaries, small creeks and

underground streams coming together to form something much larger than the sum of the

parts. A river is a communication method, a purveyor of goods and services, a lifeline, a

builder, and a source of nourishment. I would like to use my ePortfolio to further investigate

what part technology can play in fostering lifelong learning.

    The Purpose

The purpose of my ePortfolio is to produce a summative project which allows me to showcase

my accomplishments, demonstrate my growth as an educator, produce a concrete product that

demonstrates linkages and applications of theory, analysis and practice, and reflect on the

process of my being a lifelong learner. The portfolio is also designed to meet the MET program

graduation requirements and the TQS standards.

    Key Questions

Once this project is complete, will I be intrinsically motivated to produce a similar record of my

lifelong learning journey which will encompass all facets of my life.

    The Objectives

This proposal is designed to help me stay on track as I build my ePortfolio. As I am working on

this project I will keep in mind the following:

Demonstrating my growth as an educator Reflecting on my own learning Bringing together the various MET learning Linking theory and practice

    Audience

MET instructors TQS evaluators Employer to demonstrate my suitability for future opportunities Peers, students, parents

    ePortfolio Platform

I am still investigating which platform to use but I am strongly leaning towards Google Sites.

    Procedure

In order to achieve the proposed objectives I will need to reflect deeply on my own learning

through thoughtful selection of artifacts in order to demonstrate my growth through the METprogram. I will collaborate with my peers to further clarify questions I may have as well as

provide thoughtful feedback. I will seek, reflect on and incorporate peer suggestions in order to

assure that my project is aligned with the objectives.

    Expected Project Outcomes

to successfully reflect on my MET experience in a way which strongly demonstratesprofessional growth

to satisfy course and TQS requirements to apply similar process of reflection to other areas of my life

    Artifacts

I am still working on choosing my artifacts from the following courses:
