Trilogy 255 nm EPH Calibration
Sitelab’s PAH calibration kit is used on the UVF-3100’s EDRO
optics for applications testing EPH Aromatics or “Total PAHs.”
This test matches well to laboratory GC/FID methods for
Extractable Petroleum Hydrocarbons. This test is mostly used
by Sitelab for TPH fingerprinting applications. Trilogy’s higher
readings are due to subtle differences in the emission optics.

Instead of DRO and GRO, some states
require laboratories to perform EPH and
VPH analysis. These methods separate the
aliphatics and aromatics into fractions. The
aromatics have lower regulatory cleanup
limits. Fluorescence is not sensititive to
aliphatic hydrocarbons.
