    Challenges of IT Education in East Europe 1

  • With all well-known benefits IT education has in East Europe there

    are few main challenges which create obstacles for growing IT

    services here some of them are:

    As a separated corporate process Educational Program was started in the middle of 2006. The objective is to provide production units with Junior/Specialists (D1/D2 level). Process is divided into two streams:

    • External (epam-university joint laboratories)

    • Internal (pre-production pool)

    EPAM has partnered with 10 universities in 4 universities in Ukraine opened several joint laboratories .

    Partnership with Universities in Belarus

    The goal is achieved together with the leading local IT universities; EPAM has partnered with 10 universities in Belarus and opened joint laboratories to

    conduct professional trainings for students and to share its practical software development experience with the local IT education institutions.

    • 20+ fully equipped classrooms with 300+ workplaces in total

    • 600+ trainees per year • 30+ dedicated trainers

    The cooperation also entails: • joint publications and

    participation in conferences;

    • organization and support of programming contests.
