When creating a PGA Message Set which requires reporting of an engine and the equipment it is

installed in, groupings will be used. This grouping of the tractor (Equipment) and the installed

engine are considered the product and are reported at the product level under the “PG02P”

record. This is completed using a series of PG07 records bookended by the PG50/51 records,

which denote grouping. All additional records which pertain to the Product (the combined engine

and equipment) will also fall under the PG02P product level. This will include, but is not limited

to, the Certification Statement/Form Number, Importer information, Certifying Individual, and

equipment characteristics.

As the engine is being certified by EPA, it will additionally be reported as a component of the

product and may include Test Group Family Name/Number, exemptions, and any/all applicable

records and required data.

Note – Only a single engine (w/Serial Number) must be provided at the Component level, all

other similar Engines can be reported via groupings with their equipment at the Product level.
