Introduction to Plan 1

Pearson Scott Foresman has developed a two-in-one Joint-Usage Master Plan for

enVisionMATH and Investigations in Number, Data, and Space® First Edition for

teachers who are interested in using both programs.

The Plan 1 section of this Joint-Usage Master Plan has been designed for teachers using

enVisionMATH as their core program who would like to use some Investigations Activities as

additional resources for an enVisionMATH topic.

Using Plan 1

Step 1 Turn to the Plan 1 Contents for your grade level:

Introduction to Plan 2 Pearson Scott Foresman has developed a two-in-one Joint-Usage Master Plan for

enVisionMATH and Investigations in Number, Data, and Space® First Edition for teachers who are interested in using both programs.

The Plan 2 section of this Joint-Usage Master Plan has been designed for teachers using

enVisionMATH as their core program who would like to teach an Investigations curriculum unit

as a replacement for some enVisionMATH lessons. Typically, only one or two Investigations

units are incorporated during the first year a teacher is using enVisionMATH.

Using Plan 2

Step 1 Turn to the Plan 2 Contents for your grade level:

______________________________________________________________________

Kindergarten Contents ................................................................................. 37

Grade 1 Contents ........................................................................................ 47

Grade 2 Contents ........................................................................................ 58

Grade 3 Contents ........................................................................................ 69

Grade 4 Contents ........................................................................................ 83

Grade 5 Contents ........................................................................................ 95

______________________________________________________________________

Step 2 Locate the enVisionMATH topic you are about to teach and the Investigations unit or

units to which it is related. Choose and follow one curriculum plan. (Also note any additional

enVisionMATH topics that are related to the Investigations unit you choose to teach. In some cases, a topic will be taught out of sequence, and you will need to adjust your instructional plan

accordingly.)

Step 3 Identify the page where the instructional plan is located.

Step 4 Turn to that page and follow the comprehensive instructional plan for combining the Investigations unit with one or more enVisionMATH topics. All of the Investigations sessions and

enVisionMATH lessons should be taught in the order indicated. NOTE This plan lists the

individual Investigations sessions in the unit, the enVisionMATH topics and lessons that the sessions replace, and the enVisionMATH lessons you need to teach (or, in most cases, simply

integrate) with the Investigations sessions.
