SATURDAYBeginner Puppies (4-6 months of age)

AKC Sanctioned Beginner Puppy Competition!

Section 1- ClassificationsThe Four-to-Six Month Puppy competition shall be for dogs that are four months of age and over but undersix months on the day of the event. Classes will be offered for breeds and varieties and divided into Groupsas described in Chapter 3, Section 1 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows and the Miscellaneous Class breedsas listed in Chapter 3, Section 23. The Miscellaneous class competition will be the equivalent of Group com-petition and the winner will be eligible to compete in Best Four-to-Six Month Puppy in Show. The FSS com-petition will be the equivalent of Group competition and the winner will be eligible to compete in Best Four-to-Six Month Puppy in Show.

Section 2 – Entry and EligibilityEntry and eligibility requirements include:

• The Four-to-Six Month Puppy event may be offered at licensed or member dog shows at the optionof the show giving club.

• Four-to-Six Month Puppy Competition must be listed in the premium list, entry form and judgingschedule, if offered.

• AKC registration number or an AKC litter number will be required for all entries of an AKC recognizedbreed as listed in Chapter 3, Section 1 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows.

• A foreign born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the country of origin.

• FSS number or FSS registered litter number will be required for Miscellaneous and FSS breed entries.

• All entrants are to be vaccinated (including rabies) in accordance with their veterinarian’s protocol.

• Dogs that are owned or co-owned by a professional handler may compete in this class, but must behandled by a non-professional handler. Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs orhas belonged to a professional handlers’ organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised orrepresented themselves as handling dogs for pay within the last five years. Dogs may not be exhibited bycurrent assistants and household members of a professional handler.

The AKC National Owner-Handled Series is a non-titling competition for dogs that are exhibitedby their owners that are not professional handlers.

“DON’T FORGET TO CHECK THE OWNER-HANDLED BOX ON THEENTRY FORM IF ENTERING THIS COMPETITION.”

All dogs that are owner-handled and are not exhibited in the National Owner-Handled Series byprofessional handlers* meet the requirements for this competition. Exhibitors must declare theirdog is Owner-Handled eligible at the time of entry using the check box on the entry form. Eligibledogs will be identified by an asterisk in the steward’s book & the catalog. Dogs must be handledthroughout the breed level competition for the regular show by an eligible owner.Professional handlers, household members and current assistants to professional handlersmay not exhibit the dog in any AKC National Owner-Handled Series competition during theentire show. A current assistant is defined by anyone employed by a professional handler on afull-time basis, or assisting a professional handler at the show or any show during the clus-ter/weekend, however current assistants that are eligible to compete in Junior Showmanship(meet age and amateur status requirements) may participate in NOHS.

The breed will not be represented in the Owner-Handled Group if there is no eligible dog compet-ing in the Best of Breed, or in Best of Winners competition.

*Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional han-dlers’ organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handlingdogs for pay within the last five years.

5. Reserved grooming is available in the Santiam Bldg & Cascade Livestock Pavilion. Free Day ofShow grooming will be in the Cascade Livestock Bldg and will be in marked stalls on a firstcome first serve basis Friday. Electricity will not be available in unreserved free groomingstalls. There will be no grooming ringside, on sidewalks or near building entrances.Crates allowed at ringside only during judging of the breed.

6. Free Day of Show unreserved grooming must be vacated by 1 hour after Best in Showeach day. If equipment is left in stalls overnight the club reserves the right to impound items.Items will be released after occupants contact a club official and make arrangements for pay-ment equivalent to the reserved grooming fee at the show.

7. START CLEAN - STAY CLEAN: Handlers & Exhibitors are required to clean up their groomingand parking areas after the show and to keep them clean during the show. Anyone in viola-tion of this “Clean Policy Code” will be warned to clean his/her area. Should the violation con-tinue the set-up may be removed from the grooming area. All grooming areas will be moni-tored by the PHA & Grounds Chairman.

8. Should the Show Committee determine that any dog enclosed in a vehicle is in danger, wereserve the right to break into that vehicle. Anyone parking in the show site parking lots mustaccept full responsibility for damages should this occur & waive any claim to damagesagainst Chintimini Kennel Club, Inc. (the club) or its members or designees.

9. EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS: To insure the safety of our dogs, exhibitors & spectators, theClub has the right to cancel these shows in the event of extreme weather conditions.

10. No drilling nor intensive or corrective training of dogs on the show grounds or premises.

11. No cords across any road or walkway. No generators in or near show buildings or rings.All extension cords must be heavy duty. Multiplug adaptors and extension cords mustmeet code.

12. No unentered dogs allowed in exhibition areas.

13. Exhibitors may videotape/photograph their own animals.

14. Crates may be in the designated area ringside for judging of the breed. Crates must beremoved immediately after judging is completed for that breed.

The Chintimini Kennel Club does not agree to arbitrate claims as set forth on the Official AKC entry form for thisevent.

A Judge requesting the use of a ramp must give notice to the show superintendent/show secretary prior tojudging. The entire entry in a breed is to be examined in the same manner (ground, table, or ramp). Ramps canbe used in emergency situation to judge any breed. In an emergency situation an exhibitor has the option ofwithdrawing their entry and receiving a refund.

PUBLICATION RIGHTS: By entering this show, all owners, handlers, breeders and kennels agree that all rightsto televise, videotape, photograph, advertise, promote and publicize or otherwise exploit this show, or the per-sons or animals participating in it or the results of the competition before, during or after the event, shallbelong solely to The American Kennel Club and their respective assigns, including the use of the names, like-nesses or biographical matter of all dogs, owners, handlers, breeders and kennels participating in the show andno such owner, handler, breeder or kennel shall allow any other party to make commercial use of any video-tape or photograph of any person or animal participating in this competition.

A Recording Fee of 50 cents for each dog and an AKC Event Service Fee of $3.00 will be required for eachrecordable single entry class at any Licensed or Member Club Show or Obedience Trial. (American Kennel ClubRule, Chapter 11, Section 2). An AKC Recording Fee of $3.50 1st Entry & $3.00 additional entry of same dog willbe required for each entry in Rally. (American Kennel Club Rally Regulation, Chapter 1, Section 3) These Fees arepaid to the American Kennel Club.

CANADIAN EXHIBITORS MUST SUBMIT ENTRIES WITH CHECKS DRAWN ON U.S. ACCOUNTS OR WITHINTERNATIONAL MONEY ORDERS IN U.S. FUNDS.

There will be no refund for duplicate entries.

Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging.

Dogs allowed in rings during judging only.

Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor its Superintendents will be responsible or obligated tofurnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class Judging. Judges need not wait forany dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in thejudging rings.

The Club reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.

All trophies must be claimed the day of the show - None will be mailed.

All checks issued as prizes are the sole responsibility of the recipient. Lost, stolen and/or misplaced checks will not bereplaced. Checks are valid for 90 days. The Superintendent is not able to cash checks.

RETURNED CHECKS/DECLINED CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS do not constitute a valid entry fee. Fees must be paidin guaranteed funds. Checks will not be accepted. The Superintendent will add a fee for completing the trans-action and/or reprocessing the entries. Repeated occurrences from the same exhibitors may result in theirbeing put on a CASH ONLY basis.

Entry Fee will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or judgeor barred from competition by action of the Show Committee.

Exhibitors should follow their veterinarian’s recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and exter-nal parasites, any communicable diseases and have appropriate vaccinations.

No entry fees will be refunded if the Show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire,extreme and/or dangerous weather conditions, an Act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, strikes orany other cause beyond the control of the Club or the Superintendent.

The show giving Club, the Show Superintendent, their agents, employees, etc, assume no responsibility for anyloss, damage or injury sustained by exhibitors, handlers, or to any of their dogs or property and further assumeno responsibility for injury to children.

No entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance.Entries will not be accepted without fees, signatures or the “Agreement” on the reverse side of the Official AKCEntry Form.

Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing prior to close of entries. Thosereceived by telephone are not acceptable.

Refunds of $3.00 & less will not be issued due to the costs of processing.

An administrative fee of $2.00 will be charged for all cancellations or changes made prior to closing of entries.

https://form.jotform.com/72750209084152Members of the Professional Handlers Association will monitor spaces duringthe shows. David Hagey is the club liaison. Spaces are 8x10 feet in Santiam &10x10 feet in Cascade Pavilion stalls. Electricity available in both buildings.Bring heavy duty extension cords & plan on sharing. Grooming space assignments will be posted on the doors and inside groomingbuildings.Spaces assigned by postmark date and all overflow will be assigned to theCascade Livestock Pavilion stalls. Spaces fill early.

1. Exhibitors wishing to groom together MUST submit reservations in thesame envelope.

2. Exercise pens are permitted in the Cascade Livestock Pavilion ReservedGrooming spaces. Exercise pens are not permitted in the SantiamBuilding.

3. Free day-of-show grooming stalls are located in the Cascade LivestockPavilion. No electricity available. Free Day-of-show grooming is to be shared& for short term day use only. Vacate your free space as soon as possible soothers may use it. If equipment is left in free day of show stalls overnightthe club reserves the right to impound items. Items will be released afteroccupants contact a club official and make arrangements for paymentequivalent to the reserved grooming fee at the show. Monitored by PHA.

4. No generators permitted in any building.5. Dog bathing available at the horse wash racks on the west side of theCascade.

6. Grooming spaces are available Friday 6:00 am for specialties & 8:00 am forall other exhibitors; cleaned up by 1 hour past Best in Show on Sunday.

7. Buildings open 6:00 am & locked at 10:00 pm. No dogs overnight in anybuilding.

The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition; Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which,according to their owner’s records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfirmed. The show-ing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed competition is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completedthe requirements for a championship.

3. (Event Class) Consult the classification in this premium list. If the event class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addition to des-ignating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e., age division, color division, weight division.

4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for an event closed. If a registered dog has beenacquired by a new owner, it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any event for which entries closed after the date of acquirement,regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his name. State on entry formwhether transfer application has been mailed to the A.K.C. (For complete rules refer to Chapter 11, Section 3).

5. Mixed Breed dogs entering classes for Agility, Obedience and Rally trials should mark Breed as AKC Canine Partners Listed Dog “All-AmericanDog/Mixed Breed.” Variety, Breeder, Sire, Dam information shall remain blank for mixed breed entrants.
