Sense of initiative and entrepreneurship refers to an individual’s
ability to turn ideas into action. It includes creativity,
innovation and risk-taking, as well as the ability to plan and
manage projects in order to achieve objectives. This supports
individuals, not only in their everyday lives at home and in society, but
also in the workplace in being aware of the context of their work and
being able to seize opportunities, and is a foundation for more
specific skills and knowledge needed by those establishing or
contributing to social or commercial activity. This should Include
awareness of ethical values and promote good governance.

A collaborative project with OECD
What?
• A self-assessment guidance framework to support more entrepreneurial education
institutions.
• It will expand on work already done in HE, and bring it to schools and VET
Why?
• To address key characteristics necessary for cultural change spanning leadership,
teaching and learning.
• Promote institutions to have more outward facing approach, be responsive to needs of
labour market and to develop learners who are entrepreneurial and employment-
ready.
When?
• Project commences Jan 2014
Opportunities through Erasmus+ Entrepreneurship education as a priority area for funding
Key Action 1 – Learning Mobilities
•Staff or learner mobilities funding for eligible activities –can link to
entrepreneurship
Key Action 2 - Cooperation
•Strategic partnerships between education and other relevant actors –
entrepreneurship education is a priority
•Knowledge Alliances / Sector Skills Alliances - large-scale partnerships
between education & training and business
Key Action 3 – Support to Policy Reform
•Policy Experimentations - Member State level experimentations to research
large scale innovative methods to deliver practical entrepreneurial experiences
in compulsory education
