They are divided into two smaller units: Mountain and Pacific States.
The Pacific StatesAlaskaCapital: JuneauNatural resources: Forests, minerals(i.e. oil, gold,
etc.), rivers, lakes and the Pacific Ocean.Landforms: Mountains, forests, rivers, lakes and
glaciers.Climate: all four seasons are cooler than any
state.Industries: Mining, fishing, logging, oil, tourism
and agricultureInteresting facts: You can see the glaciers up-
close and you can see the Northern Lights here.
CaliforniaCapital: SacramentoNatural resources: Wind, water (rivers, streams, etc.),

lakes.Climate: Coast line-mild fall and spring, hot summers.
