Duties: Structural design of permanent and temporary structures, including bridges, erection equipment and other features relating to our construction operations. Require-ments: Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineer-ing or related. Two years’ post bachelor’s experience as a Struc-tural Designer or Structural Engineering Intern is required and must include: Structural analysis/design using Sofistik structural engineering software; Utilize LUSAS structural engineering soft-ware for finite element analysis (nonlinear, buckling, and staged construction); Design/analysis of multi-span (> 10 spans) concrete segmental span-by-span and balanced-cantilever bridges (incl. time-dependent stress; deck longitudinal and transverse; strut-and-tie; bearing); Design/analysis on gantry construction equip-ment (incl. members, bracing and connection details, gantry erec-tion sequences, kinematics, deflection); Seismic structural design for buildings and skewed bridges on highly liquefiable soils (incl. non-linear time-history analysis, response spectrum seismic analy-sis, push-over analysis, piers/bents design, pile groups and drilled shafts design); and Design/analysis of long span (> 250 foot span) steel plate girder bridges (incl. construction erection schemes, steel girder stability, geometry control).
