vario cool vario cool Ensure successful silages At a glance ▪ keeps the lactic acid forming bacteria fit and active ▪ includes extensive equipment ▪ suitable for application rates between 40 ml/t and up to 210 ml/t cool vario Biological silage addives can only work if the bacteria reach the forage in a fit and acve state! ▪ Keep mixing and applicaon as close together as possible. ▪ Cold water reduces the bacteria‘s acvity and ensures that the sugar contained in the carrier will last longer. ▪ Tanks integrated into the harvester may heat up due to the heat of the motor, thus reducing the product‘s effecveness. The soluon vario cool is a new applicaon concept which ensures the lacc acid bacteria‘s longevity. ▪ Storing the pouches / boles in a cool box protects the silage addive from heat, as does the insulated tank with thermal packs. ▪ A small mixing ball swirling inside the tank ensures that no soluon seles on the boom. ▪ A sturdy wire whisk and an applicaon schedule complete the set. The vario cool package includes: ▪ electric control unit (incl. connection for power supply) ▪ pick-up sensor (incl. equipment) ▪ 12-Volt immersion pump (incl. 5 metre hose) ▪ insulated tank (incl. tension belts to fix the tank on the harvester) ▪ bag filter ▪ flow meter (incl. hose clamps) ▪ single nozzle carrier (incl. bayonet nut and check valve) ▪ nozzles: metal and blue plastic (yellow plastic available on request) ▪ cool box (including thermal packs, wire whisk and mixing ball)

Installation menualInstalltheelectric control unitbetweenpumpandpowersupply.Thecontrolunitswitchesthepumponandoffandcontrolstheflowrate.Itshouldbeinstalledinthedriver‘scab(usethemagnetonthebackoftheunittoattachit).Voltagesabove12Vmaydamagetheunit!

Thepick-up sensorensuresthattheapplicationisinterruptedassoonasthepick-upislifted(iftheharvesterturnsordrivesonaroad).Includes3metrehose,3magnets,screws,flatplugsandflatbar(300mm)forinstallation.

Themagnetic pick-up switchgoesonthe„left“ pick-up connection

whichsuppliespowerifthemagnetmakes contact(pumpswitched

on).Itwilltakeabout5secondsfortheflowratetoadjustas

thepumpis

powereddirectlyandtheflowratewill„shoot“upwardsfirst

.The„right“ pow-

er connectionshouldbeinaneasily accessibleposition,asitisneededfor

the„bridge“–meaningtheincludedcap.Theconnectiondeliverscontinuous

current(pumpispermanentlyswitchedon).Thepick-upsensorwillnotworkif

thebridgeisinstalled,asthebridgesuppliescontinuouscurr

ent.

The12-Volt immersion pumpistobeconnectedtothecontrolunit.Thepumphasaforcedventilationandcannotrundry(10-15min).Asmechanicalforcemaybreakthehose-ventconnection,itshouldbehandledwithcare.Makesurethatthepumpreachesthebottomofthetank.Donotapplytensilestraintothepowercableconnectedtothepumpasotherwise,thesealinggasketbetweenpumpandmotormaybepulledoutthusenablingwatertopenetratethemotor.Oninstallation,mindthecorrectpolarityofthecables,asotherwise,thepumpwillnotdrawinthesilageadditive.(5metrehoseincludedinthescopeofdelivery)

Theinsulated tankholds19litres,itslidissecuredwithelasticloops.Itisindividuallyinstalledontheharvester.

Throwthemixing ballintothetank.Theconstantmovementoftheharvesterwillswirltheballinthesolution,thusensuringcontinuousmixing.

Thepipe filterensuresblockage-freeoperationofflowmeterandnozzlesandshouldregularlybeopenedforcleaning(rinsewithcoldwater).

Theflow metercomeswithadisplayrangeof2.5-25l/h.Ifpossible,usethesuppliedhoseclipstofixflowmeterinuninterruptedsightofdriver.Inanycase,theflowmeterneedstobeinstalledvertically(upright).Werecommendcalibratingtheapplicatoroncemoreaftertheinstallationinordertobeabletoadjusttheapplicationifnecessary.

Thebayonet nutonthenozzlecarrierallowsrapidchangingfromthenozzles.Anintegratednon-returnvalvekeepstheapplicatorfromdripping.Whenoperatingthepumpforthefirsttime,openthenon-returnvalveforairing.

Usage instructions1. On the eve of harvesting,putboth

thermal packsinthefreezeralongwiththesilageadditivepouches(freezeforatleast12hours).

2.Before starting to chop,mixsilage additivewithcoldwater(e.g.directlyintheinsulatedtankoraseperatecontainer).

Addmixing ballanda thermal packtothetank.

Filltothenecessaryamount of water.

Close the tank lidandsecurewithelastic loops,attach tank to harvesterandyou’reset!

3.Ifrequired,puttheremaining silage additive pouches,thesecondthermal packandthewire whiskintothevario cool boxandtakealongtothefieldforlateruse(don’tforgetacanister of water).

4.Thesecondthermalpackinthevario cool boxwillkeeptheremainingpouchescooluntiltheyareneeded.
