Enough…

I know if I look enough,

I’ll see you by the gate,

Waiting for me to come home.

I know if I feel enough,

I’ll sense your licks on my skin,

As I do, what I have to do.

I know if I hear enough,

I’ll hear you, hissing at the cats,

Just annoyed with them.

I know if I smell enough,

The aroma of your freshly washed fur,

Will pass through my nostrils.

I know if I think enough,

You’ll still be outside our doors,

As we sleep through the night.

I know enough,

That you will be with us

As we go on in this journey.

Is it better this way?

Because now we can go,

On trips enough,

Maybe to the Beach,

Or chocolate mousse for two.

One day, when we meet again,

Maybe, just maybe, if you like,

We’ll learn to give paw,

And fetch ball enough,

Till then, I’ll spread the message of

Enough loyalty,

Enough companionship!
