To register for programs online, click the online registration link in the top right corner of the home page. If you have not yet used our online portal, you will need access to the email address associated with the primary member of your Pearce membership (if you do not remember, you can call the front desk to have them check and/or make you the primary member). FAMILYMarried couples or single parent and dependent single children up to age 19 living in the same household. Unmarried couples sharing the same household do not qualify. Unmarried adult children ages 20–23 are covered on the membership ONLY if they are a current full-time student. Proof of eligibility is required. Adult children who are currently on your family membership but no longer qualify can change to an individual membership with no initiation fee provided this change is made within one year of aging out of the family membership and parents remain members.

INDIVIDUALAnyone over the age of 10 (subject to change) who does not qualify as a senior or family member. You must be 15 years or older to use the Fitness Area and equipment, unless you have completed the Junior Fitness Certification (available for 13 and 14 year olds).

LIMITED INDIVIDUAL30 days for $50. No initiation fee. Available for active military person-nel on leave or college students during school break. Proof of eligi-bility is required.

SUMMER MEMBERSHIPAn individual can sign up for 3 months for $150, or a family can sign up for 3 months for $250. No initiation fee. June 1st through August 31st. Cost will not be prorated if you sign up after June 1st. With this membership, you cannot receive Foundation or Regular Membership pricing on programs.

SENIORS 65+Individuals 65 years of age and older enjoy discounted membership pricing. Available in both individual and family memberships. Senior Family includes husband and wife only.

FITNESS ORIENTATIONAll new members are encouraged to sign up for a FREE fitness orienta-tion. Fitness orientations are led by a member of the Fitness Depart-ment and are offered by appointment. The fitness orientation provides an introduction or review of all our fitness areas that includes how to use our fitness equipment.

PLEASE NOTEChildren under the age of 10* must be accompanied into the Center by a parent or guardian and must be supervised by that person throughout their visit.

AdmissionYour membership card or your phone via the Key Ring App must be scanned to enter. After three admissions without a card or phone, members are required to pay a fee of $5 for a new card.

Non-PaymentShould your membership dues lapse past your due date, your membership will be suspended and/or terminated until you pay the balance due. Once termi-nated, the initiation fee is required to reinstate your membership.

We will put your membership on hold due to physical or medical disability with a doctor’s note, or for long-term military leave.

Membership DowngradeA $25 fee will be charged to change from family to individ-ual or Foundation to regular membership.

TerminationsTerminations must be received by the 5th of the month. Terms later than the 5th will be charged for the month.

ANNUAL RUN FOR THE HEALTH OF IT 5K RUN AND 2 MILE WALK2nd Saturday in JulyOur 5K course has been certified by USA Track and Field and takes participants through the paved, flat streets of Chillicothe. The course begins and ends at Pearce. Breakfast and the awards ceremony will take place in the Community Room immediately after the race. Entry forms are available online at signmeup.com, online at pearcecc.com, and at our Center. See our website for fees.

FREE Kids Fun Run following the race!Following the race, kids are invited to run 600 meters around Pearce beginning and ending at the front of the building. Registration is not required; however, parents must sign a consent form. All participants will receive a ribbon. For ages 6–12. Children 5 and under may partic-ipate, accompanied by a parent.

SPOOKTACULARLast Friday in OctoberTrick or treat the town merchants, then come to Pearce for our annual Halloween Spooktacular. More than 40 ghoulish games, freaky fun, and monster munchies await you. There will be a costume contest and entertainment. Admission is free. Game tickets will be available for purchase. Concessions available.

BREAKFAST WITH SANTAFirst Saturday in DecemberHey kids! Santa is coming to Pearce! Bring your family, friends, and neighbors to enjoy a pancake and sausage breakfast, Christmas carol-ing, reindeer food and visit with the guy in the red suit!

YOUTH ACTIVITIES YOUTH PROGRAMSKIDS FITNESSOffered in 6-week sessions, this program is designed for boys and girls ages 6–12. Choose any number of classes to enroll in. See our website for dates, times, and fees.

KIDS CLUBWe offer care services for children ages 6 months to 7 years for parents who wish to have their children supervised while they partic-ipate in onsite Pearce activities. Kids Club is included in your Family Membership. Children ages 4 and up are required to be a member or pay the daily fee.

EXERGAMINGFor children ages 8–10. Exergaming is a combination of video games and physical movement that will change your body and improve hand-eye coordination. Exergaming lets kids be physically active while playing interactive video games. See our website for dates and times.

JUNIOR FITNESS CERTIFICATIONMembers 13 and 14 years old are invited to complete this certification to be allowed to access the Cardiovascular Room and Selectorized Equipment Area. Participants will learn how to properly and safely use the equipment in these areas, as well as workout etiquette and rules. Call our Fitness Manager to set up an appointment.

TUTORING PROGRAMMonday–Thursday after school by appointment.Working closely with you, our staff will discuss your concerns, and then consult with your child’s teacher to identify areas in need of improve-ment. Individualized lessons prepared specifically for your child will be presented by one of our highly qualified tutors. Frequent, informal assessments will be prepared and presented to you and the teacher. See our website for dates, times, and fees.

DAY CAMPNot your typical day off school! Pearce Day Camps are fun-filled days for children in kindergarten through 6th grade when school is not in session for IVC School District 321. See our website for dates, times, and fees.

SAFESITTER® BABYSITTING CLASSPearce offers SafeSitter,® a babysitting course that develops knowledge of first aid, rescue skills, and behavior management techniques, and provides the experience to handle medical, behavioral, or household emergencies. Participants will also learn how to feed and diaper small children and create their own personalized toolkit of activities, crafts, and games to take with them to babysitting jobs. Ages 11–17. BEFORE & AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMSThe Before and After School Care program is a safe and fun place for kindergarten through 6th grade children to go before and after school hours. The highly supervised and structured program features a 10 to 1 ratio of children to counselors.

The program is held every day that IVC School District 321 is in session. Activities take place at Pearce, primarily in the camp room, gym, exergame room, and multi-purpose room. Occasionally, the program will also utilize the pool and community room as well as the outside Pearce playground and other nearby playgrounds.

If IVC Schools have a delayed start due to unforeseen emergencies including snow, cold, or power outages, we will also delay the start of our Before and After School Care by the same amount of time. See our website for dates, times, and fees.

SUMMER CAMP P.O.W.E.R. CAMPPearce Community Center’s Summer Camp program is an interactive program designed to provide children with a fun, supportive environ-ment where they have an opportunity to enjoy activities, make choices, and develop friendships. Summer Camp offers a variety of activities including physical activity, enrichment classes such as science, art, fitness class, summer reading programs, field trips, and much more.

While Summer Camp serves a utilitarian purpose, it is also designed to enrich the life of each child. Through a strategic activity plan that integrates education with fun, children grow educationally, physically, emotionally, and psychologically.

Each camper must bring a sack lunch, swim suit and towel, sunscreen, and book to read daily. Campers must also wear their Summer Camp shirt every day. Camp shirts will be distributed at orientation. Summer Camp ages 6 (finished K)–10. See our website for days, dates, times, and fees.

SUMMER CAMP SWIM LESSONSPearce is excited to bring you swim lessons that are tied right into our Summer Camp day. We’ll get your child changed into their swim wear, take them to lessons and then get them changed back and settled into their group after lessons are finished. Additional registration form and fees apply.

Take your summer to a whole new level with our P.O.W.E.R. Camp for preteens! This active, dynamic program is specifically designed for kids 11–13 years of age who will have the opportunity to participate in a large variety of events that will allow them to build relationships, guide them in becoming leaders, and challenge them every day in a positive manner.

Participants in this program will have the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of outdoor adventures including team building events such as Ultimate Frisbee, Soccer, and other sports. They’ll also be hiking and competing in water activities, as well as engaging in weekly fitness classes organized by Pearce’s Personal Trainers.

Each participant will strengthen and enrich their mind through expe-riences including STEM projects, Sketchbook Art that will allow them to build their skills and display their finished products throughout the community, and weekly book club to help foster their reading abilities and build their comprehension.

Through charity events and volunteer opportunities, participants will be given a wide variety of opportunities to learn about the impor-tance of giving back and will lead the way for raising money and items for relatable charities. They’ll also have the chance to experience how various Chillicothe businesses are run through volunteerism designed for future leaders.

Each participant must bring a backpack each day that contains a sack lunch, swim suit and towel, sunscreen, and book to read daily. Partic-ipants must also wear their P.O.W.E.R. Camp shirt every day. Camp shirts will be given out at orientation.

YOUTH SPORTS LEAGUESPearce Youth Sports Leagues are designed to provide fun, recreational sports practice and play in which participants will learn basic skills and rules of the game in a structured environment. We’re here to have fun and give every child, no matter their level of skill, a chance to experi-ence the sport. See our website for times, dates, and fees.

Volunteer CoachesThese leagues depend on parents volunteering to coach. If you are interested in volunteering as a coach, please contact us. Coaches will be selected by experience on the date of registration. Coaches will receive a complementary t-shirt.

SWIM LESSONSPearce offers year round group lessons for the beginner to advanced swimmer. Private and semi-private lessons are also available. See our website for dates, times, and fees.

SWIM CLUBOur swim club is designed to help swimmers ages six and up develop and improve competitive swimming abilities including a variety of strokes, strength, and speed. Participants must be able to swim the length of the pool unassisted. See our website for dates, times, and fees.

LOCKER ROOMSOur locker rooms are equipped with full shower facilities. Pool towels are available to use for $1.00. Both full and half lockers can be rented for one year. Please provide your own lock.

Daily locker use is also available. A limited number of half lockers are available free for day use. Please provide your own lock.

FAMILY CHANGING ROOMChildren over the age of five are not allowed in the opposite gender’s locker room; however, we offer a private family changing room with full shower facilities and lockers.

LIFEGUARDSNationally certified lifeguards are on duty Monday through Friday from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 pm to 4 :00 pm. Summer hours 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm daily.

ADULT SWIM LESSONSThese lessons teach adults how to swim. See the Athletic Manager for details.

POOL FEATURESPearce’s impressive indoor pool is six lanes wide, 25 yards long and hosts a full schedule of swim lessons, water aerobics, swim club, lap swim, water walking, and open swim. The pool water is kept between 83–84 degrees for maximum comfort. Children ages 9 and under must have an adult 18 or older with them in or at the edge of the pool at all times, even when a lifeguard is on duty. Children ages 10–15may swim alone when a lifeguard is on duty; however, they must be accompa-nied by an adult 18 years or older in the pool area when the lifeguard is not on duty.

HYDRAULIC CHAIR LIFTOur hydraulic chair lift allows those with disabilities to enjoy the bene-fits of water therapy. Maximum capacity is 350 lbs.

SAUNARelease, relax, revitalize. We recommend a 15 minute time limit in the sauna. Ages 16 and older are welcome.

WHIRLPOOLReduce and relieve stress while soothing sore joints and muscles in our whirlpool that accommodates up to five people and is kept at a temperature of 104 degrees. We recommend a 10 minute time limit in the whirlpool. Ages 16 and older are welcome.

INTRO TO 5KFor all of the non-runners, this is the program for you! Each Fall and Spring, with the assistance of the Pearce team, we will help you achieve your goal of running a 5K in just 9 weeks. Weekly evening runs led by Pearce Instructors are offered year round. See the website for dates and times.

FEWL (FEMALES EMBRACING WEIGHT LIFTING)Learn the essential foundation of strength training and proper lifting technique. Overcome fears often associated with free weights and get more curve, capability, and confidence.

WEIGHT LOSS CHALLENGEChange the way you think about exercise, fitness, and nutrition to overcome obstacles that prevent you from meeting your fitness goals in order to make long lasting changes to your routines for better health. Weigh-ins will be conducted and inches lost will be tracked; however, you will come to understand that these are a byproduct of hard work. Workouts will be designed to improve strength, endurance, and overall fitness to improve everyday life.

WOMEN ON WEIGHTSWomen On Weights is a fitness class specifically designed to teach women the essential foundation of strength training and proper lifting technique. Women on Weights will provide more curve, more capa-bility, and more confidence.

BOOTY BOOT CAMPDesigned to strengthen the gluteus maximus, gluteus medius and gluteus minimus. This group of muscles does more than add round-ness. These muscles play an important functional role in your body's alignment. Strong glutes protect you from injury, improve athletic performance and give you a curvy shape. They stabilize the pelvis during running and walking. Strong glutes also help with hip extension and forward propulsion.

BLACK FRIDAY FITNESS BASHFriday after ThanksgivingWe’ll help you burn off those Thanksgiving calories with a series of 30-minute aerobics classes. Stay for one, two, or all of the classes. FREE and open to the public.

Pearce certified personal trainers can work with any fitness level at any age. They will customize a workout for your specific needs. The trainer will provide one-on-one workouts, or you can choose to train with a small group. An emphasis on the fundamentals, strong support in achieving your goals, and personal attention is what you will receive from the Pearce personal training staff.

All group exercise classes are included in your membership. Members 13–14 may participate if they have successfully completed the Junior Fitness Certification (see page 11). A current schedule of classes can be found on our website and at Pearce.

FITNESS ON DEMANDFitness on Demand is a virtual fitness program available in our Group Fitness Room when there are no instructor-led classes in session. Throughout the week, we have a variety of virtual classes scheduled, but we also offer times where you can choose your own. With over 250 virtual classes to choose from, Fitness on Demand is a convenient solution to anyone who cannot attend group classes, or anyone who prefers a private workout.

CYCLINGIndoor cycling is a journey to health and fitness. It is an opportunity for you to not only experience an incredible training program, but also personal challenge, camaraderie and energy—all at your own pace. Whether you ride to get stronger, nurture your body and spirit, sweat out the events of the day, or reinvent yourself, cycling is your ride. This low impact workout welcomes all fitness levels. Our VIP Cycling membership is available for members who want to utilize the cycling room during off-class times.

AQUATICSEnjoy our standard competition-sized pool by taking part in our Aquatics Classes! Our classes integrate bands, water dumbbells and noodles for safe, low-impact, total-body workouts. In addition to every day fitness, aquatics classes are great for managing pain and relieving symptoms of arthritis.

LANDOur land-based group fitness classes offer a variety of workouts that focus on different areas of fitness. Whether you’re looking to build strength and mass; develop toned muscles and stamina; or stretch and recharge physically, mentally, and spiritually—we’ve got a class for you! OPEN GYM STYLEPearce Community Center is home to many different year round adult leagues that service every skill level, in an open gym style. These leagues are structured to encourage our members to stay fit and active in a fun way, with minimal commitment. Because these leagues are run in an open gym style that means there is no registration, no sched-uled games, or practices. Practice your moves, meet your friends, play pick up games, and stay active! To reserve space outside our normally scheduled league hours, contact our Operations Director.

PICKLEBALL This sport combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. It is a paddle sport created for all ages and skill levels. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players. Courts will be set up for pick-up games, and utilized on a first come, first serve basis. The court will be located in the South Gym. Limited equipment available. ADULT LEAGUES

BASKETBALL Have you been wanting to practice your ball handling skills, jump shot, or play a pick-up game? Grab your friends and join us for our basketball league. This league is designed for all levels of experience. Courts will be utilized on a first come first serve basis. Courts will be open in the North Gym. Limited equipment available. BADMINTON Grab your rackets and birdies! Come work on your footwork, serve, and returning skills! This league is designed for all levels of experience. SENIOR NUTRITION PROGRAMMondays, Wednesday, and Fridays–11:30 amCentral Illinois Agency on Aging (CIAA) serves hot meals in the Pearce Community Center's Community Room. This service is called “CIAA Food and Fellowship.” Apostolic Christian Skylines will be preparing the food. A one day notice is needed to RSVP for this service since there will not be any extra meals provided. A sign up sheet will be in the kitchen area from 9:00 am–11:00 am on each service day. Community residents may call Pearce or come in to sign up. A $3 donation is suggested.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES PEARCE RENTALS

RENTAL FACILITIESThe Community Room is large enough to accommodate up to 200 people with plenty of room for food service, music, and dancing. This private room is perfect for wedding receptions, graduation, holiday, and anniversary parties. The Community Room includes a full-service bar, large kitchen with industrial ovens, and walk-in cooler.

The Meeting Room accommodates up to 40 people with rectangular tables and chairs. This smaller private setting is perfect for bridal and baby showers, birthday parties, and business meetings.

The Pool and Gyms are available to rent during public hours. Private, after-hours rentals are also available.

The following are a few of the rules and guidelines we have designed to ensure all members have a safe and enjoyable visit.

ADMISSIONS• Children under the age of 10 (subject to change) must be accom-

panied into the facility by a parent or guardian 18 years or older and must be supervised by that parent or guardian unless they are placed in the care of the Pearce Community Center (PCC) Kids Club or PCC program.

• No unauthorized entry into the building.• Regardless of the program, league, class or function, all persons

coming in to PCC must enter through the front doors and check in at the front desk.

• All PCC members are required to scan their membership card or phone app to enter. If they wish to enter without using their card, they will be allowed to do so three times. After that, a new card must be purchased for $5 or entrance will be denied.

• Do not use another member’s card to enter PCC or loan your card to another person for entry into PCC.

• PCC reserves the right to refuse admission.

BEHAVIOR• PCC has zero tolerance for vandalism, theft, fighting, verbal or physi-

cal threats to PCC members, guests or staff, possession of a danger-ous weapon, drug activity or disruptive behavior resulting from the use of drugs or alcohol. If any of these infractions occur, the police will be contacted immediately and membership privileges will be revoked.

• Absolutely no running, pushing, dunking, rough play or foul language.• Behavior deemed damaging, disrespectful, disruptive, irresponsible,

abusive, or dangerous by PCC staff is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated.

• Smoking and the use of e-cigarettes in the building is prohibited. • PCC is not responsible for lost or stolen articles.

PROGRAM REGISTRATIONS & CANCELLATIONS• Registrations fees are due the Friday before the start date of any

program or league. A $25 late fee for registrations turned in after that time. Summer Camp, Day Camp, and Before and After School Care are $5 per day up to $25.

• PCC requires a cancellation notice of at least 2 business days in advance of class or start date.

• PCC will not refund or transfer fees for any reason once a class or program has begun.

FITNESS• No underage persons in restricted areas.• Shirts and shoes must be worn in the fitness area at all times.• Members 15 years and older may use the fitness areas without

adult supervision.• Members 13 and 14 years old must complete Junior Fitness Certifi-

cation to access the Cardiovascular Room and Selectorized Equip-ment Area.

• No food or drink (excluding water) is allowed in any fitness room.

P O L I C I E S & P R O C E D U R E S

GYM• No food or drink (excluding water) is allowed in either gym.• No hard soled shoes allowed on the gym floor. Proper footwear

must be worn.• Kicking balls into walls, ceilings, or dividing curtain frames is prohib-

ited.• Dunking or hanging on basketball hoops is prohibited.

POOL & LOCKER ROOMS• Please walk at all times.• Diving is not permitted.• Hanging on ladders and/or lane lines is not permitted.• Rough play is not permitted.• Aquatic toys and floats are not permitted. Fitness equipment is for

class use only.• No food, drink, or glass containers.• Proper swim attire only, including swim diapers.• Swimming alone is not recommended.• Children ages 9 and under must have an adult 18 or older with

them in the pool or at the edge of the pool at all times, even when a lifeguard is on duty.

• Children ages 10 to 15 may use the pool when a lifeguard is on duty. When there is no lifeguard on duty, they must be accompanied by an adult 18 or older in the pool area.

• Age 16 and older may use the pool without a lifeguard on duty.• Any other behavior deemed unsafe or inappropriate by the lifeguard

on duty or other staff member will not be tolerated.• Cell phone usage is prohibited in locker rooms.

CONSENTBy participating in any activity at Pearce Community Center you:• Agree to abide by the rules and regulations of Pearce Community

Center.• Request permission to participate in activities with full knowledge

that activities could result in damage or injury to me and/or my dependent.

• Assume all risk of possible damage or injury involved through partic-ipation in Pearce Community Center activities.

• Agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pearce Community Center and all employees and/or volunteers.

• Understand that Pearce Community Center will not furnish a life-guard on a permanent basis and agree to exercise sufficient care, holding Pearce Community Center harmless from any responsibility.

• Grant permission to Pearce to take and use video, photographs, and/or digital images of me, my child/children for use in promo-tional material.

• Request receipt of digital communication from Pearce Community Center.
