A growing dependence on food imports in MENA

Population of the MENA region is increasing at2 percent per year – the second highest rate in the world.

Under business as usual, this means increasing dependence on food imports ….… greater vulnerability to high global food prices & market shocks… less resilience to other socio-economic stresses.
