What do we know?

• At least 60% of the world's population fails to complete the recommended amount of physical activity required to induce health benefits

• YOUNG PEOPLE (5-18 YEARS OLD)60 minutes of moderate- to vigorous-intensity physical activity each day that is developmentally appropriate and involves a variety of activities.

Benefits of Physical Activity

• More physical activity provides greater health benefits

And also:• control over risky behaviours particularly among children and

young people (e.g. tobacco use, alcohol / substance use, unhealthy diet and violence)

• increased productivity in the workplace• better performing schools.

Conclusion• PA improves well-being as well as physical,

psychological and also social health
