1. Demonstrate the correct use of prepositions by placing their monkey cards according to the appropriate position, getting at least 5 correct out of 82. Write down the eight types of prepositions learned in a mind-map3. Match the correct sentences on prepositions to the correct pictures, getting at least 4 correct out of 6

Set Induction( 5 minutes)1. Pupils watch a video clip on Five Little Monkeys.(Pupils are asked to sing a long if they can)

2. Pupils are asked to state what animal they can see in the video.Stand up and try to sing along.When the monkeys jump, jump!

What did you see in the video?

I brought monkeys for everyone today!

You must wait to see the monkeys.

T. Materials:1. Video clip

Presentation( 20 minutes)1. Teacher shows a PowerPoint slideshow on the selected prepositions pupils will learn for the day.

Teacher pronounces the prepositions and pupils follow.

2. Teacher shows pupils a box and asks pupils to guess what is in it.3. Pupils are each given a monkey flashcard and a box flashcard.4. Teacher explains that pupils are going to learn eight new words.

5. Teacher uses the monkey and the box to teach pupils the selected prepositions.

Pupils follow teachers actions.

6. Teacher tests pupils understanding and memory.

Today we are going to learn 8 new words.

These words tell you the location of an object or person.

Prepositions:

near, next to, in front of, behind, under, on , in, betweenCan you guess what is inside this box?What do you think is inside this box?

Everyone will get one box and one monkey.Now, the monkey and the box will help you to learn the new words.

i. The monkey is in the box.

ii. The monkey is on the box.

iii. The monkey is under the box.

iv. The monkey is in front of the box.

v. The monkey is behind the box.

vi. The monkey is next to the box.

vii. The monkey is near the box.

viii. The monkey is between the box and the pencil case.

(Asks pupils to use their own pencil case)

When I say the sentence, show me where the monkey is.
