Mary wake up before the sun rose last Saturday. It was her school’s Sports Day.

Mary went to the stadium with her parents. They arrived at 7 a.m. the school principal gave the opening speech at 7.30 a.m. Then, the students proudly marched past the guests.

At 9 a.m., Mary did her frist long jump. The event finished 30 minutes later. She came in third. Mary was happy to win a medal.

There were perfomances by the school band. There was also magic show. At 4 p.m., the 100 metres relay event started. Mary ran second. She passed the baton to the next runner. She was happy her team won first place.
