1. Check by visual inspection that the units are undamaged.2. Check the units for the installation have the correct serial numbers as reported

to BLIP Systems.3. Check the correct serial number of the BTTS-WF sensor from the sticker placed

below the USB slot on the master unit.

Installation manual - BTTS-230VStep 2 - Mount the BlipTrack unit(s) safely at the measuring point

• The unit shall be placed at least 3 meters above ground level.• The unit shall be placed at least 1 meter away from other BlipTrack sensors or

any other radio based equipment to secure correct radio communication..• The unit shall have unhindered line of sight to the traffic in both directions.• The unit shall be mounted with the lid parallel to the direction of the traffic.• The IP classification is only guaranteed if the cable gland is pointing downwards.

Installation manual - BTTS-230VStep 3 - Attach the TSWF sensor to the TS230VBAT unit

1. Remove the protective cover from the USB slot of the master unit. (Save it for later storage…)

2. Attach the USB plug of the TS-WF sensor to the external USB slot of the master unit.

3. Firmly fasten the protective cover of the USB-cable to the USB slot of the unit.

4. The IP classification is only guaranteed if the protective cover is properly tightened.

1. Remove the lid using the triangular key – or using a standard 11 mm star wrench.2. Check the internal power button is in the “Off” position.3. Check the modem (with an active SIM-card) is placed correct and is firmly fas-

tened in the unit.

1. Adjust the antenna directions of the BT modules (BT1 and BT2) to point towards the traffic.

2. Loosen the antennas with a standard 10 mm wrench.3. Choose direction 1 if the unit is in the median strip of the road.4. Choose direction 2 if the unit is placed at the roadside.5. Fasten the antennas again upon adjusting the directions.

Installation manual - BTTS-230VStep 6 - Connect the external power source – 240 VAC

1. For safety, make sure the external power source is turned off when connecting the power line.

The unit complies to the electrical isolation class II. It will therefore not require connection to safety ground or any protection through a RCCB (residual current circuit breaker).

2. Remove the lid of the internal black junction box.3. Feed the power cable through the cable gland into the power box.4. Connect the power lines according to the illustration in the power box.5. Put the lid back on.6. Firmly fasten the protective cover of the cable gland to ensure watertight

closure.7. The IP classification is only guaranteed if the cable connection is done correct.

Installation manual - BTTS-230VStep 7 - Power on the unit and await Blip Server connection

1. Power on the unit using the internal power button.2. Check the Power LED for power supply and battery status.3. The internal battery can provide power for the unit for minimum 36 hours

from being fully charged.4. The internal battery is fully recharged within4 hours.5. All four Status LED’s will flash once after approx. 20 sec as part of the basic

unit wake up.6. Check the Status LED’s status after approx. 5 minutes – the correct status is:

Yellow LED = On. Blue LED = Blinking or Off. The left green LED = On. The right green LED = Blinking

7. Check the unit becomes visible and active on the Blip Server also after approx. 5 min.

8. The customer specifik URL with username and password are provided by BLIP Support.

1. Ensure the lid rubber seal is intact before closing the unit.2. Fasten the lid firmly without using excessive force.3. The IP classification is only guaranteed if the lid is properly tightened.

1. The unit(s) are now in operation.2. Take a photo of the mounted units showing the serial numbers.3. Take a photo of the mounted units in their surroundings.4. The photos may easy the maintenance phase.5. An installation report may be forwarded to BLIP Systems: support@blipsystems.
