The interior design works with half levels
and a basement parking layout, that allows the
residence to keeps an independent activity from
the working area and yet its the space.
The project takes place in a property
which has an abrupt topography and
requires the creation of platforms. This
creates the different inner
environments keeping them connected
according to their main activity.
The project demands creating an
attached working area for the owner
but independent from the residence.

The project is about the
creation of a funeral home facility in the
outskirt of Antigua Guatemala city. The
project seeks to recreate the journey
that the deceased has taken. For this
the facilities are buried as part of the
design, surrounded by open gardens
and water mirrors which reflects the
sky, reminding the mourner that the
deceased is resting in a greater place
above us.

The project is about creating facilities to gather specialist in esthetic and health care such as,
dentists, nutritionists, dermatologist and ophthalmologists for day procedures. The facilities also
provide complementary services such as a pharmacy, optical shop, gym, a food court and the
facilities administration. As part of our philosophy, the design has a green roof, curtain walls facing
north and south facades and steel features which avoid direct radiation on east and west facades.

The project is about two steel structures which join together through a ring, symbolizing the
beginning and the succession that the university of Rafael Landívar has accomplished. A water
mirror is designed around the central Ceiba with translucent stands and colorful LED lights inside
the water for artistic exhibits, creating an intentional trail.
MEMORIAL PLAZA CELEBRATING THE UNIVERSITY'S 50 YEARS
APARTMENT BUILDING
The apartment building is
located in America's Avenue,
Guatemala City. According to "The
Land Use Plan" (zoning rules), in
Spanish "Plan de Ordenamiento
Territorial (POT)", facilities in this
areas must reduce backward into
the property five meters starting at
the 5th floor and above, and also
have height and permeability limits.
The projects needs to design 75
apartments in 16 levels, using the
ground floor as a lobby and other
complementary services, in order to
reach the sales profitability.

URBAN AND ARCHITECTURAL COMPLEX FOR THE REGIONAL FACILITIES OF
UNIVERSITY OF RAFAEL LANDIVAR AT ESCUINTLA
The project seeks to establish an urban complex for private education from K-12 to University level for the most
popular degrees in the location, according to a market study, where the main area of study is agronomy.
The school works independently from the university, but they still consider the complementary
services for one another.
The master plan organizes the university connected to the public area through plazas
and pedestrian bridges, which include the administration, chapel, auditorium, cafeteria, sport
fields and parking lots. The school is located in a different topographic level.
For this master plan, two architectural projects where designed.

CAYALA ESTATE PARK
The project is located in zone 16, Guatemala city. The park has already several path to walk, even though
they were not well planned, the few facilities owned are in poor conditions, basic services are absent and it lacks
strong characteristic to call out people's interest. The space needs to be improved creating an ecological park with
natural attractions for all ages.
The facilities would be created with demountable pieces such as steel structures and bamboo, wooden
footbridges and the implementation of dry bathrooms. The main path includes stops through an aviary, a butterfly
garden, an outside theater, different lengths paths, a canopy, climbing walls, a playground, an ethic museum,
viewpoints, a cafeteria and souvenir stores.
Project located between 7th and 8th avenue and 13th y 14th street from
Downtown Guatemala City, it is seeking to turn the properties into an urban
structure.
The main object is to rescue and
improve the urban lifestyle and human
interactive activities in the historic Centre
of Guatemala's Downtown. The master
plan includes a facility for commercial
activities in the ground floor and
residences on the upper levels, cultural
and recreational activities, scheduled
inner spaces and gardens and community
basement parking lots, which allows the
local metro bus "Transmetro" to function
better and keeps the car lanes flowing
without congestion.
RESIDENTIAL,
COMMERCIAL AND
CULTURAL SPACE,
GUATEMALA DOWNTOWN.
The proposal seeks to
create facilities that foster
cultural and recreational
activities, this include a
children's museum with a
minimalist architecture and a
inner aquarium, volcanic
rocks exposed, a planetarium
and an interactive science lab.
Adjacent is a three story mall
with a food court over a green
terrace that overlooks out
into the historical center.
The property has to fulfill the land
use plan (POT - Plan de Ordenamiento
Territorial), which in this case, the
project has to provide as much parking
lots, according to the used surface. To
reduce used surface, double height
spaces with hanging gardens were
design, to create an open space that
communicates the upper levels with the
parking lots.
CENTRO COMERCIAL ZONA 6
Mall located at the intersection of Belize Bridge and Martí
Street. The property is abandoned and is seeking to create a town
market with small stores about 2.5 x 3.00 meters, parking lots in the
ground floor and stores in the upper levels; maximizing the space
available.
REGIONAL CENTRE OF GREAT DESIGN
The project located on the shore of Amatitlán Lake, seeks to create an ivy league center for architects,
urbanist, industrial and graphic designers. The facilities must fulfill the environments needed for the students
such as classes, an auditorium, recreational and service areas and residence facility for students and
professors. The proposal design includes classrooms with seats as bleachers, a great auditorium into the lake
and residence area for two students per room with a loft influence.
Students Dorms:
First Floor: living room - Studio, kitchenette, Breakfast and a
complete bathroom.
Mezzanine: Bedroom for two students.

ANALYSIS OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND SURROUNDINGS
ESC: 1/7 500
The project is focus on the pursuit of social cohesion,
based on open spaces that allow the inclusions and
integration of children in orphan status and risk, through
cultural and educational activities, into a friendly and
participatory society, interested in the welfare and
development of the infants. Of the infants 60% of them
are in risk, but unfortunately they are delivered to their
representatives for lack of accommodation, the 40%
remaining are in a state of orphan hood, waiting
accommodation at the disposal of the public foster
homes or private, but according to their restrictions of
age, gender or physical health problems, children are
constantly relocated, the ones who reach to established,
are in disadvantaged by not having the space needed for
their integral development.
To this a solution is request, given through an
architectural urban project, that unfortunately a
residential project by itself does not cover to satisfy the
basic needs of infants, focusing on the pursuit of the
social cohesive through four factors: the satisfaction of
needs, viability, innovation and foment of activities.
The project works with a strategy of three phases: I)
Recovery of public space creating interaction and
cultural exchange areas and coexistence streets as well,
prioritizing pedestrian flow, creating super blocks,
proposing specific scenarios intervention II)
conceptualization of housing design and the integration
of this to
the public space as detonating. III) The appropriation by
the community for the project turning it into a pilot
project as the implementation of housings network to
provide immediately support according to a set radius as
well.
