The City of ExeterExeter is the capital city of the region of Devon in the south west of the UK 2:05 hours from London by high speed train. It is a beautiful and safe historic English city. Founded 2,000 years ago, it has a population of 120,000 with a working population of approximately 500,000. It is the central base for education, medicine, religion, commerce and culture in the region.

The city is home to Exeter University, a world top 100 university as well as Roman, medieval and Tudor buildings and monuments. Exeter is close to beautiful beaches and some of the UK’s most beautiful countryside. It is a vibrant and modern English city with something for everyone.

Full of character and history, Exeter is a city where the ancient meets the modern.

Adult Courses 16+ Junior Courses 11-17

Course covers all skills of, speaking & pronunciation, listening, reading & writing, vocabulary & grammar. Every student has an individual learning plan and individual tutorials with their class teacher.

The 30 and 21 hour options include General English in the morning and exam preparation in the afternoon. The 15 hour course is exam preparation only.

An outdoor, task based English language course. All activities take place in the forest “outdoor classroom.” Activities include den building, fire lighting, orienteering - all in English. Study alongside local English children at least 1 day a week.

What’s included: 27.5 hours’ study weekly, full board accommodation (host family twin room), 4 evening activities and 1 full day excursion. Transport to & from Forest included.

Individual lesson where students can concentrate on areas of specific interest.

FOREST SUMMER SCHOOL

ONE TO ONECITY SUMMER SCHOOL

15 hours’ group General English class & 6 hours’ 1:1 Tuition in the afternoon.

COMBINATION COURSE

FREE HOT LUNCH In a local bar Monday - Friday for students studying 21 or 30 hours & 4 weeks minimum.

Students learn through project based activities such as sport, music, fashion & history. Students work in groups and learn to investigate, describe, discuss, give opinions as well as learn verb tenses and expand their vocabulary and then present their project to their fellow students.

Host family option: 15 hours’ study, full board accommodation, twin room. 5 x afternoonactivities, 2 x evening activities plus 1 full day excursion & 1 full day with host family.

Residence option: 15 hours’ study, full board accommodation (5 nights a week dinner in theresidence and 2 nights eating out), single room with private bathroom. 5 x afternoon activities,2 x evening activities plus 1 full day excursion & 1 full day with group leader.

AccommodationSKOLA Exeter can offer 3 types of accommodation:

Host Family: All year round – Families carefully selected and visited by SKOLA staff. Most families are within 20 minutes’ walking distance of the school and city centre.

Residence: Superior & modern residence, located in the city centre. All rooms with private bathroom and shared kitchen or Studio apartments with private bathroom & kitchen available – please enquire for availability.

Student House: For students on a budget. Private bedroom and sharing the house with other students. Located within 10 minutes’ walk of the city centre and school – Available July & August.
